Don't know about night nurse but pretty much all medicines, especially cough mixtures and lozenges are chock-full of sugar and therefore calories. But pretty much all medicines have a sugar-free diabetic version but you often have to ask at the counter for it as they tend not to keep them on the shelves as much as the standard stuff.

It does do something i stuck to the plan to the letter last week had flu took night nurse put on 1.5 lbs

Did you know you can get night and day nurse in capsule form. There would not be too much sugar in it as it safe for diabetics. Any weight gain could be cuaed from fluid retention or lack of energy hence lack of normal exercise. Get better soon x
