I just started my 6th week on CD yesterday but feel pretty naff today and don't know why.

I have absolutely no energy and just sat down on the floor to load the washing machine and tumble drier. I had a couple of dizzy spells that I tend to ignore but also bit of a tummy ache and aching around the side and back of my waist since last night. Took a senokot as I feel it's due to constiptaion although am drinking the recommended amount.

Is this pretty normal? I just remember 20 years ago feeling so energised when I was on CD (and that was on CD 330). Hope this doesn't carry on as I have 3 stones to go yet - at this rate I'll be shattered until Christmas.:sigh:

Made the mistake of mentioning it to my elderly Mom too - and then got "are you eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and taking your vitamins". I explained the concept of the diet to her but you get so much rubbish in the newspapers about what you should eat so I had that recited to me.

Hi Sweetpea. Im on week 13 and I do occasionally get days where I feel like I could stay in bed all day and sleep. I have not felt the rush of energy that some lucky people experience while in ketosis.

On the whole though, I do feel like I have more energy for losing 4 stones and hope I'll feel even better when I have shifted the rest of my weight.

Hows the diet going for you so far? How much have you lost/got to lose? Also where about in west mids are you?

    HI Sam,

I've lost 23 pounds so far and just started week 6 yesterday and have just over 3 stones to go to get down to 9 stones. The diet is going fine although I'd obviously love to lose weight even quicker but I'm determined and there's no chance of my quitting - I'm in the right frame of mind (probably being bl**dy-minded) so will stick it out until I'm there. Hopefully I'll be at target by Christmas and then can spend some time maintaining so that I don't go back to bad habits.

I've actually felt cold and hungry on it this time around as well as needing to go to bed much earlier to get 8 hours sleep (I've lived on about 5 ever since I remember) but hey, perhaps it's something to do with being 20 years older than last time. I can't help but check my weight and ketostix daily at the mo and today was at medium on my ketostix so that made me feel better.

Last time around I can honestly say I cheated every day by having ...... wait for it.....about 6 packets of fruit gums every day and still lost 4 stones in 3 months. That was because I didn't want anyone at work to know I was dieting until I was well into the weight loss and couldn't be tempted off it. This time I'm following the diet religiously though and not losing as quickly.

You have done absolutely brilliantly on CD - oh and belated birthday greetings for Wednesday. Hope you had a good one!

    PS I'm from Birmingham too.

    Hi Saffron,

That's good then - well not that you're exhausted - but that I'm in good company and it sounds relatively normal. Actually as the day has gone on I'm feeling better, although all I've done today is put a washload on and sat at my PC!

Wow - just seen you haven't got far to go until target - you're sure to do that by your wedding!

I daren't take pro plus - I remember last year when I did that for some revision for accountancy exams I was sitting. I was wired for days. I felt like I was never going to sleep again. Mind you I was popping them all night long and I didn't sleep for three straight days. It didn't help with my results either!

Hi Sweetpea. You sound like you're doing really well. 23lb is a great start. I lost really quickly at the beginning but have slowed down to about 11lb every 4 weeks, which isnt as quick as some, but still a darn site quicker than weight watchers etc..

PMSL at the fruit gums thing. Surely they would have knocked you out of ketosis. You must have been flipping starving the whole time. That'll be why you are feeling the cold this time, but didnt last time.

That 3 stone will be off in no time. Think of all the lovely things you can get yourself for christmas when you are slim.

Great to have another brummy on CD.

I have the odd day where I feel really tired and lethargic too. They just seem to pop out of nowhere!

I've also had the pain in the side and back. It was just a one off but it was so bad that I got really worried. Luckily it hasnt occured again. Not sure what it is!

Dizziness? yep. I get that quite often and especially if i get up too quickly.

Hope you are feeling better soon honey - you are doing brilliantly

    xx

    Hiya,

I'm feeling much better now thanks.

The dizziness and tiredness seemed to have vanished all of a sudden and the pain in my side and back have gone so hopefully mine will have been a one-off too (probably as not eating enough to go the loo properly). It was a bit scary though as was quite painful.

Still feeling the cold easily but, hey, you can't have it all. As long as I'm losing the weight I'll put up with the cold.

Actually just realised I have about 5 coats that I absolutely love and am going to really be upset about losing when they are too big for me. They're all a bit small at the mo though but the minute I fit them I'd better try and get my wear out of them.

Think I know what I want from hubby for Christmas.

I noticed another post today from another brummie - a girl and her bf are starting CD on Sunday but can't remember her name. (Actually the West Midlands is supposed to have the greatest proportion of fatties than other parts of the country according to a recent survey. They need to advertise CD more obviously).
