Noodles, egg or rice?

Free on green and EE :)

Beware of the instant noodle packs, the ultra-cheap chicken or curry ones. The books implies that all dried noodles are free, but these packs have noodles made with palm oil and are about 5 syns per pack. I had a whinge at SW for this as I bought a shedload and only found out later on, so I hope they will change the book for next year.

As a rule of thumb, free noodles include anything that comes in a pack on its own without flavouring, like spaghetti does. Egg noodles; Japanese ramen, soba & udon that is dried and sold in packs of three little round bundles; and rice vermicelli. Probably others too.

Fresh noodles sold for stirfry usually have an oil coating to keep them from sticking together. Some Japanese fresh udon noodles don't have oil and next time I get some I'll enter the nutritional info in the syn calculator to see what it says.
