    Hi all

Just after some advice plz as where to report a stupid angry staff dog, i dont like reporting ppl but this dog, well stupid owner just dont give a **** tbh.

Everytime to door opens the dog bolts right across road to our garden and if my eldest and g/f outside smoking its bolts so aggressively but doesnt attack and tonight it happened again and when i went out to see if they were ok i was at the door on path and the dog came for me. Well near me was my 6 year old who got autism screaming cos he didnt like the noise so i came straight in even though the dog was there to comfort my son.

Eldest g/f is still shaking and so am i and it happened at 9pm 10 mins ago and my kid has fallen asleep with fear and what really annoyed me is that the fella or wife or kids havent come over to apologise.

He lets the dog without lead from door to jump in car and only shouts once the dog is at your legs.

So do i report to council or police cos enough is enough now.

    thanks:mad:

Hi i am an owner of 2 staffy`s as u can see from my siggy but i am a responsible owner and i care bout my dogs.
Staffy`s are very high energy dog`s and very excitable dogs if not trained well.
There is a good chance the staffy is just very excitable and has not been taught manners hence bounds over to you.
You say it is being aggressive, if so in what way could you be mistaking a badly behaved out of control staffy for possibly an aggressive staffy.

My 2 girs both have very good manners but when they play fight they play fight hard, dont hurt each other at all and to any one who is not experienced with staffy``s they would think that they are being vicious but they are not.
I have to say that i dont put my lead on my girls when i take them in and out of the car but they listen to me so its a totally different situation.

If i were you i would go over to the owner and have a word with them, also keep a diary of each situation the time and what happened, if the owners do not take this seriously enough then you can report them to possibly your local dog warden/council as this is upsetting your son and i totally understand that 100% and is not acceptable at all and obviously he is not a responsible staffy owner and needs to teach his dog manners and pay attention to where his dog is and keep him under control.

I hope you manage to sort out this problem and i feel for you big time and it infuriates me big time when people own staffy`s for the wrong reason 4 a staus dog and cant be arsed to train them correctly and be a responsible staffy owner.
Staffy`s are fabulous dogs with children hence me having 2 and my girls mix with all the kids on the estate and are so gentle with them as they are under manners.

I know u dont want to hear this but it is not the dog`s fault but the stupid ignorant owner and if he cant be arsed to controll a high energy dog like a staffy he should not own one.

Have a word, use your child as the reason, say that it causes the little one stress. If it continues go the local council community saftey officer or dog warden.

I love dogs, but all it takes is a snap at a childs body and well the rest will be in the press. so before it can happen snip it in the bud. Oh it would probably be a good idea to have a independant witness when you speak to the owner or tell them that you will outline your concern in writing after you have spoken to them. ( thiswill negate the shock of a letter turning up) This will be enough proof for the council to get involved. Hopefully that wont need to happen.

You mentioned the police, well ... they will only get involved if the problem gets worse and ASBO type issues are raised, like-wise if the dog bits or attempts to injure anyone then possible dangerous dog action can be taken. You bets bet is the local council services for now.

I hope this helps, and good luck with it.

    Thanks both

Yes im going to say the truth to him when i do see him but he the sort that picks on single mums in the area by acting the hard i am, he tried with me last year but i gave him mouth back but in alovely way he didnt like it so not had bother since.

As for dogs i love dogs and i have a massive american bulldog and had a staffie in past but if my son would of been right direct contact and it came straight to him he would of screamed and god no's what the dog would of done.

Its always when kids out, and tbh his kids are only few year older and i didnt send my dog out when kids were smoking to scare them grrrrr. some owner eh

Hi Jacqui thanks for the pm, def catch him on the cam thats the best evidence you can have and he cant deny it.
As u have an American bull dog which are gorgeous you yourself know you have to train them and keep them under manners because of their size and strength.
Hope u get it sorted soon and this guy sounds like a fr***in arse take care x
