so if anyone has one (can only take one), please contact me. I live in Surrey but I'm willing to travel anywhere in the South for a kitten :)

Have a quick look for local cat sanctuaries and PDSAs. I'm sure there are lots of places that would be so grateful for your support. There is a satellite of Battersea Dogs home at Englefield Green (Old Windsor) and my sister got her cat from there.

    Good luck

I'll look up the satellite of BDH at Old Windsor and will google cat santuaries (are they likely to be on t'internet? or do I have to revert to old fashioned yellow pages?)

You could try the Cat's Protection League - we got a gorgeous kitten from our local place. Failing that local vets often know where you can find kittens and I've seen them on Freecycle before. Good luck! Post a piccie when you get one.

The BDH satellite is deffo on 'tinternet! Actual location is halfway up the hill to Englefield Green (just before Boy's school on rhs) from the r/bout at the end of Runnymede stretch of road at Old Windsor end (if you know where I mean).

We have another local sanctuary in the Maidenhead area called CLAWS (I think) I just googled 'cat sanctuary berkshire' and it came up with a national database amongst other sites

Hi Dancing, I have been to Animal Lifeline in Morden for rabbits in the past and I know there is a cat section:-

    Animal Lifeline

They are a rescue service and they nurse the animals back to health before re-homing.

my freecycle group have a policy of not doing animals. Hadn't thought about the local vets either. Good idea.

I know it is terrible but i'd rather have a younger cat. I know the old ones are lovely and deserve love too but I'm only human and as I can only have one, it will be a young 'un. HAd a look at the BDH Old Windsor website - not sure if they keep it up to date but they only have 10 year old cats (makes me sad that people like me won't home them - see I'm not so nice am I. Poor old cats)

sssshhhhh! It has been a funny old week Susan and I am (words stuck in my throat ...) delaying that for awhile and now that I'm getting a cat, I will ensure that when I go I take the cat with me (wouldn't be able to do that if I stuck to the plan to emigrate at the end of the year). I will go for another holiday at the end of the year instead.

I'm giving a good impression of someone who can't make a plan and stick to it!! but that is truly not what I'm normally like. Ya gotta laugh!
