I thought I'd join in and start posting my food diary on here- I've been jotting it down in a notepad but I think it's good motivation to post it in a public domain! Here's what I've had/plan to have today:

Breakfast- Fat-free fromage frais with fruit

Lunch- Poached egg and beans

Snack- Fat-free yogurt, 4 Quorn deli slices with fat-free cottage cheese

Tea- Quorn fillet, carrots, peas, small amount of mash made with 2tsp Vitalite (3 syns)

Supper- 2 slices wholemeal toast (HEXB) and 2 Dairylea Light triangles (HEXA)

Snacks- Fun size Milky Way (3.5 syns), Quavers (4.5 syns)

Total syns- 11

Exercise- 30 mins dog walking

Quite proud of myself today!

I know, when I read it back it didn't seem like all that much, which surprised me! Haha. But I'm not too much of a big eater to be honest, and I haven't felt hungry or anything. One of my worst eating habits pre-Slimming World was skipping meals, so I'm trying to condition myself to eat more regularly. It's weird that I'm eating more than I used to and losing weight!

That's one of the things that attracted me to SW, my friend joined up and I couldn't believe the amount of free food that's allowed! I've sometimes found that I haven't been able to finish a meal because I just got too full- the other day I had a Quorn fillet, jacket potato with fat-free cottage cheese and a massive pile of salad, all free food and I couldn't even finish it all. It barely feels like a diet at all!

And here's today's food diary, subject to edit as it's only a proposed diary so far!

Breakfast- Total 0% Greek yogurt with loads of strawberries

Lunch- Poached eggs and wilted spinach on a small bread roll (HEXB)

Tea- Pasta in tomato sauce with cheese from HEXA allowance

Snacks- Alpen Light bar (3.5 syns), fruit, Curly Wurly (6 syns), Quavers (4.5 syns)

Total syns- 14

I did pretty well with my eating today, however I may have ruined things slightly as I had a girls' night out to the cinema and had a couple of sneaky cocktails. Rather than dwell on it, I shall just be extra good this week to compensate!

Breakfast- Nothing (terrible of me I know, but I didn't have chance this morning!)

Lunch- Spaghetti hoops and 2x Dairylea Light triangles (HEXA) on 2 slices toast (HEXB), fat-free yogurt, banana

Tea- Quorn bolognese with organic pasta, fruit salad (melon, pineapple, strawberries, banana)

Snacks- Quavers (4.5 syns), Minstrels (10.5 syns), apple

Total syns- 15

You need to increase your veg/fruit intake for EE to give you better results.

Thank you for the advice :) I do generally pile my plates with salad at teatime, and when I've listed fruit as a snack I meant a huge bowl of pineapple, strawberries and melon, but I haven't had chance to go shopping for a couple of days so my salad drawer is looking decidedly bare today, haha! Made my bolognese sauce with a tin of tomatoes and some veg so I've probably just about scraped together my 5 a day today!

Breakfast- Banana (I ate on the run)

Lunch- Hard-boiled eggs on 2 slices wholemeal toast (HEXB), banana, apple

Tea- Quorn burger, jacket potato with cottage cheese and lots of salad, slice of garlic bread (4 syns based on the calories), fruit salad (melon, pineapple, kiwi)

Snacks- Fat-free yogurt, fruit salad, mini eclair (7.5 syns based on the calories)

Total syns- 11.5

Lunch- Cheese and salad sandwich (HEXA and HEXB), 2 apples

Tea- Quorn fillet, new potatoes, lots of salad

Snacks- Fruit, 2 glasses of mead liqueur with diet lemonade, a bag of crispy M&Ms, a Milky Way and about 10 penny sweets *hangs head in shame*

Total syns- I don't even want to know! I shall have a low-Syn day tomorrow to compensate for my debauchery.

Lunch- Broccoli, spinach and ginger soup, cheese and salad sandwich (HEXA and HEXB), small slice of baked vanilla cheesecake (4 syns)

Tea- Jacket potato with beans and salad (I wasn't too hungry after my massive lunch!)

Snacks- Lots of fruit, Mini Milk (1.5 syns)

Total syns- 5.5

Exercise- About an hour of walking in the woods

I think I've undone some of the damage from last night now! :)

I felt really ill this morning, hence the slightly unconventional start to the day...

Breakfast- Nothing

Lunch- 2 Weetabix with milk (HEXA and HEXB) and chopped banana

Tea- Quorn bolognese (home-made) with wholewheat spaghetti, tiny piece of baked cheesecake (I'm allocating 5 syns because I'm not sure exactly how many it'll be, but it was teensy!), fruit salad (melon, pineapple, kiwi)

Snacks- Fruit

Total syns- 5

Zero energy day :(

Breakfast- Banana, 2 hard boiled eggs on granary toast (HEXB), fruit salad

Lunch- Egg and cress sandwich (6 syns for the bread), apple

Snack- Crunchie (9 syns)- I was out for a job interview earlier and felt really weak and dizzy all of a sudden, so I had a sugar boost

Tea- Quorn fillet, new potatoes, fat-free cottage cheese, lots of salad

Snacks- Lots of fruit, fat-free yogurt

I had a bit of a weird day today- I felt so weak and hungry earlier that I thought I was going to fall over or something, which seemed really strange. Does anyone else ever feel that way? If so, how do you boost your energy levels?

I thought I might have been dehydrated too, but I drank about 2.5l of water today, plus a herbal tea, so I think it's unlikely. I think I might need to be a bit more strict with myself regarding food- on the days when I'm really close to 15 syns I tend to feel like rubbish, so I may just have some syn-free days and stuff myself with fruit and veg to see how I get on!

I felt rather delicate today after yesterday's bout of weird illness, hence today's disgraceful food diary. I wasn't going to broadcast it purely out of shame, but I think it's important to document bad days as well as good ones! Normal service will resume tomorrow.

Breakfast- Fat-free yogurt, banana, 2 pears (it took me 2 hours to eat all of this, my stomach did not like the idea of food after last night's random sickness!)

Lunch- Mug Shot, banana

Tea- Mug Shot, 2 slices bread (HEXB)

Snacks- I shared some nachos with my friend at the cinema, not sure how many syns this would be but I'm allocating all 15 to it since I'm guessing it's not good!

I'm hoping that tomorrow I shall be back to feeling bouncy and energised, as I did at the start of this diet, and my food diary for tomorrow will hopefully reflect that!

Back on the wagon...

I woke up with considerably more energy today, so I'm making an effort to get my eating habits back on track. Hopefully the little blip I've been experiencing over the past couple of days is over now!

Breakfast- Fat-free fromage frais, banana

Lunch- Jacket potato with beans and about 20g cheese (half of HEXA allowance). I jazzed up the beans by dry-frying some onion and five chopped cherry tomatoes before adding the beans, then threw in a bit of chilli powder. It was rather yummy! Followed this with some chopped pineapple later in the afternoon.

Tea- Spanish omelette (aka yumminess on a plate) and avocado salad, small piece of chocolate cake (8 syns based on calories)

Supper- 1x Dairylea Light triangle (rest of HEXA) on toast (HEXB)

Snacks- Fruit, sweets (4 syns based on calories)

Total syns- 12

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ate it at my friend's house and I did ask her about avocado- I was suspicious since I know they're high in different fats etc- but she's doing SW too and she promised me they were syn-free! There were only about four tiny chunks of avocado in the whole salad though so hopefully it wasn't too bad, it was mostly cucumber, rocket and spinach.
