OMG Special K !

Well after STS for two weeks , I e mailed Slimming tworld just to see if I was doing something wrong. Apparantly Special K does not meet the criteria to be a healthy extra B on Extra Easy??? but Shreddies do???

Im going back to the drawing board as Im determined not to give up,dont have a lot to loose and I know it was gonna be slow ,Im gonna stick to 5 syns a day and go back to having shreddies 28g for my healthy B instead of 28g of special K :(

I am sure you will start loosing again soon , there are loads of cereals that you can have as a HEB it doesnt have to be shreddies !! I love choclate weetabix ( 2 is a HEB and 2 syns ) , weetabix crunchy bran ( 42g ) , puffed wheat .....

It is an easy mistake to do.

I always keep the healthy extra list printed out and stuck on my fridge with a magnet, that way I know exactly what healthy extra's I am allowed.

I check the list often to see if there are any new additions and add them to the bottom.

Yes pretty sure special k sustain is a HE B, but i think it is being discontinued so hard to find now.

28g of shreddies is NOTHING.

There is an absolute correlation between me having shreddies for breakfast and being able to run better than having fruit and yoghurt or weetabix. Only problem is I need at least 70g to feel like I've eaten any :(

Try the crunchy bran you get loads more than normal cereal :)

I love Dorset cereals porrige, available in apple and raisin or rasberry and cranberry.
1 sachet is HEXB plus milk HEXA. just takes 3 mins in the microwave, mix and leave for a minute to thicken....lovely!

I am so disappointed the special K isn't a HEX, I bought a HUGE box literally 2 days before i started on slimming world and now i can't eat it! :'(

Sad me!!

Thankfully weetabix came to the rescue though :)

I also have a giant box of special k unopened in my cupboard and an oatabix too! I always thought I was being good eating oatabix until I joined SW last week and its 9 sins! Its only 5.5 for cocoa pops :(

i didnt know this, only just found out im shocked thought it was "wonderful " by what the adverts say!

A lot of members are shocked to see the Special K isn't as fantastic as it seems.

It doesn't qualify as a Healthy Extra because it doesn't contain enough Fibre - the whole entire reason we get Healthy Extra's. There are lots of other cereals you can have though..

Thanks for that im just surprised i thought it was "the" healthest cereal to have, i dont eat it personally im more if a 2 alpen light bars for breakfast kinda gal!!! Xx
