only 2L??

Hi guys my mother is on LT as well started with me but she like me is not a big water fan and she is only managing 2 litre's of water a day and thats all she can do?? i'm up to 4L will this affect her weight loss? is it enough??:confused: she doesn't drink tea or coffee either. What do you think.

2litres is the minimum, so she should try upping that amount a little if she can. i've always drunk 3-4 pretty much so really can't say how much it affects weight loss. but she will still lose weight on the minimum :)

Little and often can be the key to drinking a little bit more.

As long as she's drinking at least 2l she should be okay? She needs to replace the fluid she'd normally get from her food, as well as her drinks to avoid any problems associated with dehydration- it's not just to do with your losses.

They say the min requirement is 2ltrs, so the fact she is at least drinking that is minimal...and should be ok.....BUT, most people would say try and drink as much as you can up to the 4ltrs.

It is hard at the beginning but funnily enough eventually you will get through your 2 litres by around 2-3pm and then you have another good few hours to get some more down you!!! That is what I have found.

There is a link which talks about the benefits of water and really, if your mum has quite a bit to lose, it helps with skin....it keeps it nice and flexible. Type in the search box,,WATER. I thought I have saved it but I cant find it, but it is more beneficial if she can drink more.

I cant say for definite if she will lose more, but personal opinion is yes, it will, but I cant be sure. I just try to maximise the weight loss as much as possible so I try and go the extra mile to get there.

I have been telling her to increase gradually just a little more. Its hard she only drank diet coke before starting LT.
She is doing the minimum; so cant knock her for that...it isnt the easiest habit to get into, if she is so used to diet coke, but not unachievable....

What I do is this...as soon as I get up in the morning, I take a 1 litre bottle out of the fridge and start drinking it, as I am preparing my shake....take it on the train with me, and by the time I have reached the office I am almost through my first litre....if she just learns to keep a bottle with her at all times, she will eventually rely on it! I am lost if I dont have my water when I go to the shops.......I get a really dry mouth..so, my body has got so used to it.

Just keep encouraging her and I am sure she will be able to up it, even if it is only a few 100 ml at a time.

I am struggling with water myself so good luck with that. I dont know how I am going to increase it. Going to see how it goes.

Little and often really helps, and have it sitting everywhere- every time you see a bottle have a swig.

I am DETERMINED this diet will work and had 3L yesterday and have had 3L so far today so I hope that`s enough, Not sure I can force more down me :(

3 Ltrs is fab!! You are doing really well and I can see the determination. Honestly, you will eventually get so used to water, that you wont be able to manage without it! I used to drink water, but it was with Robinson's R.....I couldnt stand water on its own, unless I had done a workout! But, now, I cant be without it.....strange how habits become good!

Keep going, you will get to the 4 eventually, but three is good going!!!

I only manage 2 litres a day and my weight losses have been fine - 3 stone in 7 weeks. I really struggle to drink much more than that. x
