Porridge question

I am going away on my boat soon and dont have access to a microwave. I always have porridge for breakfast. Does anyone know if the porridge can be eaten just with hot water or does it have to be cooked in the microwave?

It doesn't have to be cooked in the microwave, but it shouldn't be cooked in a saucepan either. You could just add hot water, but it wouldn't taste too good.

You can cook it in a bowl over a saucepan of water that is simmering on the hob though

KD, you are full of daily surprises - I didn't know this! (Memo to self - get the double boiler out and try that for a change! )
