Questions from a nearly newbie!

Hi, I'm starting SW on 7th August and looking forward to it! Was just wondering about a couple of things that I can't find any info about, firstly was wondering what things are worth buying from the classes like books etc (wondering if they do a shopping and/or eating out book, weightwatchers did both but the shopping book didn't have Morrisons in it so was useless for me!) and was also wondering how you work out syn values for things that aren't in the books etc? Also, do you get a list of all the healthy extras and the alternatives for them, i.e. different types of bread/yoghurts etc as these days I do a lot of my shopping at Aldi/Lidl and they don't sell many branded products.
