    Hi
I am restarting CD after a year, last time i suffered terribly with severe constipation even though drinking 2-3 litres of water a day. Do any of you suffer with this, if so how do you deal with it?

    Thanks

    Hiya,

I have really bad constipation too, when i started CD last week, i didnt poo for at least 4 days so i just had to have feiyan tea which is a herbal tea and finally after 5 days i had a poo! I told my CDC and she said constipation is common and she recommended senna which i think is also a herbal tea. Theres also senekot which is sort of a laxative. Hope this helps. xx

Never heard of that Feiyan tea, so will give that a try. It is the only down side to the diet for me.

    Thanks lots!

From what I've read on here, and other VLCD sections someting called psyillium husks are the best things, and others mention ducolat

not sure about spellings, or if they are allowed, but they are mentioned loads :)

From what I understand you can use fybogel - the plain one, I think senokot is too harsh for a vlcd and even dulcolax might be but I suppose it depends on the person and personal preference :)
