Hello everyone, I started the diet yesterday. Day one went well but I have a long way to go, 4 stone to lose. My daughter is doing this diet with me. We are hoping to encourage each other, and along with reading all your inspirational posts we will make it to the end of our journey. Can anyone tell me how I can start a diary. I think it will help when the going gets tough?

Welcome :):)

You have just started a diary :D This thread is in the diary section, so I assumed it was your diary! Very nice it is to! ;)

If you want to change the title of your diary, then just edit your first post...click "Go advanced" then above your post you will see the titles and you can change it there. Then just click save :) Hope that helps.

Can I just say how fab it isto have the minimins app on my phone. Whenever I feel bored or in need of inspiration I just press a button, marvellous, and I'm only on day 2!! Speaking of which has gone really well, especially as I had to stay in all day waiting for an electrician who didn't turn up, aargh. Had a vanilla shake with tsp of coffee, was ok but a bit weak going to make it with less water tomorrow. For a late lunch I had a chocolate and orange bar, very nice. Then a tomato and basil soup for dinner, added some basil leaves, black pepper and tabasco to it, was ok but preferred the Thai chicken one I had yesterday. So far have been ok with the flavours so that's a bonus. Need to update my weight but forgot to buy a new battery for the scales. Should also take some pics so I can hopefully see a difference. Off to bed now, night all.

Hey redscarlet, I'm on day 5 of my first week... & so far it's going ok!!!

I want to loose 4 stone as well, although I'll still be overweight according to the BMI chart!!!

Welcome Scarlet, hope your day is going well. Good luck with your weight loss, hope you find the transition to packs continues to go well and that you start to feel great as you get into ketosis. This site is great, I love reading everyone's stories and knowing that if others can do it, then we can do it too :)

Thanks for your replies guys. Had a job interview this morning. As soon as it was over I had an almost uncontrollable urge for something sweet to eat and had to walk past a few carby outlets, if you know what I mean but resisted...go me! Got back, had a strawberry shake made with 200mls water, not quite so weak as yesterday but still didn't taste of much, but ok. Got the job which is great, will mean working with food but am determined not to waver so shouldn't be a problem. Downing the water and peeing for England, but it's all good, means I should be drinking enough. Going to have a veg soup shortly. Saving my bar for when I go to my friends this evening. Now here lies a challenge. She is lovely but very over weight and not too healthy, has high blood pressure amongst other things. I know she is going to try and poo poo this diet, BUT I'm ready for her...

My night went very well thanks Marge. The subject of diet never came up. I thought she might get suspicious when I refused all alcohol, very unlike me. I wondered because of the affects of alcohol to health being very much in the news yesterday was why she thought I wasn't drinking. Shan't see her until next Friday, another week to get more established on this diet, marvellous. Start my new job in a kitchen on Tuesday, trying to get mentally prepared to cope with all that food. Hoping I shall not want it because of being surrounded by it all day. Yes I know, think that might be a tad optimistic. Coping stratagies that's what I need. Anyone else here work with food, how do you cope? Is it just sheer will power and the wanting to be slim that over rides the urge to eat. Think I've just answered my own question. Really helps to be on here so much wonderful support. Would be great to see a few more meet ups, but is that not what people want? Maybe I should try and organise one, am a bit out the way though here in Lincoln! Feel I'm rambling now, now will my first of the day be soup or shake?...

The weekend has been good, is definitely harder but am ok. Children off school now, and Easter looming, need to focus and stay on track. Have decided I don't like the shakes much, they just don't taste of anything :0(( Soups are good as are the bars, just got to keep trying with the shakes in the hope I might get to like them. Good luck to everyone, here's to a good loss this week :0))

Still chugging on with the diet. Doing ok despite working with food. Looking forward to two days off, not used to being on my feet all day!

Have been doing so well. Even liking the shakes. But it all fell apart today...was feeling a bit down got some worries about my daughter and gave in to comfort food. How stupid am I :0(( Tomorrow is another day and I'm climbing back on that wagon. I so want to lose this weight.
