I have just started having the crunch bars in week 4/5 and had a peanut crunch on friday and cranberry on Sunday, however, the side effects are really unpleasant.

Without going into TMI, they make me very bloated and *ahem* windy. :eek:

I bought the bars to take to work with me when I'm in the office as I'm starting to get bored of the tetra's day in day out, however, working in a very small office with 3 men is bad enough let alone with the side effects I've had! :eek:

Is there anything I can do to limit the side effects - are the other bars any better?

haven't noticed it myself.. though my tummy is a rumbler sometimes on CD. lol

Has your CD got a shaker that you could buy for normal shakes, or could you buy a blender for work? Or have you got access to a microwave for porridge or soup?

Yeah I tried the bars at the begining of week three they didn't make me bloated but gave me awful heartburn I only tried the peanut bars though and also they made my jaw ache from chewing. I wish I could recommend other things for you but I'm super boring and after experimenting in my first week I have since lived on the chocolate mint and chocolate shakes as they are the only flavours I like lol xxxx

Absolutely the peanut ones did that to me too, the others seem ok and didnt have the same effect.

Word of warning though, had two bars in a day yesterday 'I know we shouldnt', however I went out and just grabbed them and ran. OMG I now know why we are only allowed one a day, (calories pah) been running to the loo all day, bright side, mr constipation has well and truely left the building for now lol wont be doing thst again. :copon:

Hope the other bars are kinder to you, nothing worse than sitting in an office with men and your rumblings are louder than theirs :eek:

I think anything but the bars keep me smelling normal! though i love the odd toffee bar as a treat. I find porridge etc really stops bad farts lmao.

I was very gassy with the bars too - not too bad with the caramel bar but it took me out of ketosis!

I never knew that Lisa:eek: when the CDC gave me three bars after week two weigh in I ate all three in one day:copon: whoopsie daisy's xxxx

i absolutely LOVE the peanut bars but they did make my tummy rumble a bit! gotten used to them now but had to ease my way up to having 1 per day.

Well put it this way,when my husband comes in his first words to me are how many bars have you had,as they give me pretty bad wind,thats it though!!

Thanks for the replies guys! Glad I'm not the only one having 'after effects'!

Unfortunately, I can't take a blender to work as it will have to be PAT tested and I really can't be doing with the hassle of that!

I think I'll try one of the other bars next week and see if they are any better, I'll be into week 6 by then so hopefully they won't knock me out of ketosis!
