So.... Loose skin?

Anyone have it? Anyone worried about getting it?

I've got 3 stone to lose in total (was 12.7 a few months ago) and I already have quite a loose tum after having my twins 4 years ago.

I'm really worried that I'll lose the weight and my tummy will just be a hanging paunch! I already have a bit of an overhang over my caesarian scar and hate the thought of it just being empty skin.

What's everyone else's experiences? X

Its my biggest fear =/ I have lost just over 5.5 stone now and all seems to be good still BUT i still have 3.5 stone to go and im an apple shape so most of my weight is on my belly so i really fear having a saggy pouch... its one of those things tho that you cant control and wont know how bad or good it will be until you lose the weight. But from day 1 this has been in the back of my mind =S

I'm worried about this too :( I've lost 7st 10lbs so far with another stone and a half to go and I've still got flabby areas on my stomach and hips but I'm really hoping it's just excess weight and they'll go away when I lose more weight!!!! Last thing we want is to lose all the weight then end up with a big apron of skin :S

I know ill be left with a awful tummy no matter what weight I am as it already does overhang a lot! I've had 3 sections, and unfortunately my last one went badly which made it ten times worse than it was previously. The whole area just makes me feel sick :cry:xxx

Saggy overhang!!!! Yuck!!!!

Hi :) I have a horrible 'apron' tummy which I hate! It sags down n stops me frm wearing any tight clothing as u can see it from the side.... I have 3 stone to lose to get to bmi off 22.5!

I was wondering has anyone else had this which has gone when the weight drops off?

I'm dreading the fact that it will never go :-( as I hate it so much! I'm only in my early 20s so rly dnt wnt it anymore as u can imagine.

Any experiences with this type of thing will be a great help

Hiya i think its all dependant on your body and how it springs back. I know when i first lost my weight at the young age of 17 i did still have a bit of a tummy but it certainly never bothered me and i was wearing size 8 tops and size 10 bottoms. I'm under no illusion that being significantly heavier this time and having given birth that when i do get to goal there will still be some stomach. If it really really does both er you (if indeed it's there about 6months after weight loss) you could speak with your GP about having any excess removed on NHS. It takes a while after you've lost the weight for your body to re-adjust and so if you are left with anything you could try tonnig exercises designed for that area to help nature along :)

I did read in an article that you shouldn't be disheartened by the way your skin looks when you first lose weight as it will look better eventually, but some people's skin will never go back.

I think I'd be too scared to have a tummy tuck though. I'd be worried something would go wrong and I'd end up leaving my kids with no mummy just for cosmetic reasons! I'm a bit neurotic ;-)

^^ that is definitely something to think about. Argh, a dunno. Would love a flat tummy but I guess ill just have to wait and see what its like once Im down to my goal weight xxx

^^^ lol!!

I'm also in my early twenties huni, and after having 3 sections my stomach is a mess. My last section wound got infected in the hospital, and it later split open at home, and I had to go back to theatre. Because of that the scar is really indented into my stomach and the whole stomach hangs over it. It really depresses me. Once Im at goal weight Im going to go to my doc (if its still a mess) and see if he can help because I cant afford to pay for it myself xxx

Yeh looks like it!! The one I posted was directly about the apron tummy area not loose skin in general... Mines fat as well as skin! Haha....

Ahh well!!!

It depends, im under the NHS's specialist weight management programme and you're eligible for it on that but only after you've maintained for a certain length of time and had all kids you'll be having. They obv dont know im doing CD and well they're not v supportive tbh ive only seen them once since September and not due to see them again til this sept and the parting words from doc last sept was not to change anything and he wanted to see me in 3 months lol but i'll stay under them just for the option of apron removal if it really bothers me
