Hello.

I know we are all in the same situation so I apologise for doing this!

I just really do not know if I am strong enough to do this. I'm on day 6 and I've already come this far without eating, and keep telling myself to stop being so stupid. But I am feeling so depressed, I'm not sure what element is making me feel like this either.

I'm starving which is making me feel physically ill, light headed/faint and shaky; I am drinking around 3 litres a day so it's not that I'm not drinking enough....

I just feel absolutely dreadful and not sure if I'm cut out for this. :cry::cry:

But now, writing this all out, I really can not justify how I am feeling.

I can't stop crying, all because I need food. I keep telling myself that if I do start eating that I will not go back to junk food, and it will just take a little longer to lose the weight.

This might not make perfect sense, but I'll come away from this computer and feel exactly the same, but I just can't get it into words.

I apologise for being so miserable, you're all doing so well you don't need me to remind you of any negativity.

1st of all dont apologise chicken!!!! We all get like that!!! Ive been really down today and im in my 3rd week!!!! its mind over matter have a nice bath or have an early night (thats what im doing!!) Just think youve done 6 days already hun and when you see those scales you'll wonder what all the fuss was about seriously stick to it hun and dont ever feel like your moaning we're all here for support!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Leah

Ive been struggling the past 2 weeks with CD. I unlike you took the cheating route. Ive since done (nearly) 2 days, yesterday I ss'd and today I have had a quorn fillet and some brocolli for my tea. Why don't you try that and do a different plan? It could be just what you need hun.

hi hun sending you big hugs..it does get easier but the first few days are tough. Why dont you wait until your WI to see whether you still feel the same?

Hi Hun,

Oh you sound really sad :-(

Do you think you can keep it up until your weigh in? Why not see how you get on? The huge loss you are about to get may spur you on for the next week? If not, why not speak to your cdc about moving up a plan, perhaps ss+ or 810.

To be honest, I really couldn't cope with ss, I did it with LL but after two weeks I couldn't do it anymore, really gave it my best shot but just couldn't do it. I moved onto the 810 plan and have still did plenty of cheating let me tell you. But I'm happy losing around 2lbs a week as it suits my lifestyle better and I'm really happy with it.

Good luck, ss'ing is difficult and no-one is going to take anything away from you if you decide to move up a plan. We all do whatever we can to get this damn weight off!

Leah my buddy!!! we can do this together rememeber, i know how you're feeling! i just want to eat, but we've gotta help each other out, don't be sad chicken i know you can do this! think of the bigger picture, think of yourself in a few weeks much slimmer and happier, and then being able to eat food and not feel guilty or wonder if you've put on weight. in the big scheme of our lives 12 weeks is nothing! and im here for you all the way! xxxx

I know you feel really low right now but hang on in there as you will feel so much better knowing that you have stuck to the plan. I drink about six litres a day and don't feel hungry. Yeah sure I could eat, but it isn't physical hunger it is just a craving now and again but I ignore it and do something else. Chin up pet it will get better. i have been SS for nine days and I think I felt a bit rough around day six. It passes, really it does. Sending you hugs x

Thanks all, so sorry to be a misery, like I said yuou are all doing so well.
I suppose it's because I don't know how much I have lost, therefore feel at the moment I'm doing this for nothing. My WI should be tomorrow but have to wait til Saturday as my CDC is away.

I'm naturally an extremely weak-willed person and tend to take on new hobbies/projects and then give up lol.

I keep on having moments of clarity and look at the bigger picture, then all of a sudden I have this over whelming desire to give up. I've convinced myself that I can never see anything through so I guess it's the same with this.
Plus hubby2b has just had chicken kievs, potatoes and peas with lashings of lovely mayonaise lol.

Is it your WI tomorrow jackie? Good luck!

I'll see how it goes, it may be that I need to do SS+ maybe. It's just everyone has told me that after 3-4 days the hunger goes when in ketosis, and I know I am as have done a few ketone tests and they turn that darkest shade of purple.

And anyone find that when watching tv, the adverts come they are full of food ads? Just sat through Mccains chips, Pizza Hut, Shreddies, Petit Filou and Galaxy adverts...argh!!

maybe you should try ss+ or aam see if it works better for you? yeah iv noticed that! tv seems to have so many more adverts about food, and all food looks better than it used to. im weak willed too and have actually amazed myself at how strong iv been, but its purely through the support on here and im sure we could help you! yeah tis my weigh in tomoz morning so excited but nervous! rememeber im always here if you wanna chat! xxxxx

Hi Leah, I still get hungry, but not the overwhelming I MUST EAT NOW kind of hunger, its just that I really really want something. It does go away though.

Please try and make it till Saturday til your weigh in, you honestly will be so proud of yourself and so pleased if you do. Speak to your consultant and then make your decision, please don't fall off and just eat something, I promise it will make you feel much worse.

You can do it, you know you can ;-)

I have this plan where IF I do start eating again, I will transfer to Slimming World and eat healthily. I wouldn't binge or eat junk as understand that I will make myself ill and I'd be more depressed then ever!

Jackie- Know you've done well, you're so much stonger than I!! But if you do need to chat then I'm here (most of the time, if not you could always text me??)

"If I can keep going for another hour, then I can look again at whether or not I want to eat. " Then an hour later, do the same again. You will be so surprised how many hours you get through this way - and every hour adds up!

There are lots of possibilities - I agree, cheating and eating are two of these but another possibility is to continue SS. Rather than saying you have to get through another day, try getting yourself through another hour. I'm sure you have heard the one about the mouse eating an elephant (one bite at a time).:rolleyes:

You have just watched someone devour a meal and you STAYED STRONG - proof you can do this.:)

Have you had a go at any of the games in the arcade - you will be amazed at how many hours pass playing Bola:D

sounds like a good plan hun! but are you going to try and stick ss out just till your weigh in? i think its a good idea, but obviously see how you feel etc. yeah would be good to stay in touch seeing as we're offical diet buddys now lol, even if you do slimming world or whatever you choose ill still be around if you need motivation or anything? txtng would be a good idea, if either of us have a moment of weakness? my number is 0787 207 4257 xxxx

Hi, Some people can get depressed on a VLCD as it can depress the production of serotonin. Serotonin kind of helps keep you cheerful. The other thing is that fat stores some hormones which get released into the bloodstream as you lose weight - it was like I had permanent PMT when I did CD!

I couldn't figure out why I was so miserable and snappy when I was losing weight which was what I had wanted for years. I was relieved to find there was a physical reason why I felt the way I did - even though it didn't change how I felt, my family gave me loads of space. The time when I told my mum to 'grasp the concept and move on, woman' has gone down in family history!
