Socialising/Eating out

I find it very easy to follow the SlimFast plan Mon-Fri. It's the weekend that always lets me down and is becoming a real problem as it is preventing me from losing anymore weight. How do you stay motivated at the weekend, and how to you find the strength to order salad at a restaurant instead of creamy pasta or a burger? I find it incredibly difficult...:sigh:

Hi and welcome fizzy :) I've always had saturdays off, it's helped me stay motivated through the week. I have just started having sundays off as well, but trying to stay within slimfast calories...which I didn't do yestarday  I have amazed myself on this diet though, taking the kids to McD's and only having a diet coke!

Hi Fizzy:)

It is very easy for me...I have no social life;)

But honestly, I think it is a frame of mind, and maybe try choosing places to go that don't serve your favourite fatty foods:) Could you maybe stay in and have friends over instead of eating out, that way you could cook a lovely healthy meal for everyone? Or maybe try eating loads before you go out so you don't feel hungry.....these are probably rubbish suggestions, as I don't have any experience of this weekend trouble:rolleyes:

Thanks for the advice guys... sometimes it really doesn't help having a partner who 'loves me as I am' - not that I am blaming him, of course ;) I just tend to always slip-up when he is around... which is mainly weekends!

I am very lax on the weekends when it comes to SF. I often eat what I want for breakfast.. have a lean cuisine for lunch and eat what I want for dinner. It's back to the grind on Mondays... It hasn't really affected me at all. :) I just try not to go over board.

SNAP! I have no social life either lol! If I go out in the evenings it's to the swimming pool lol!

If I was you tho Fizz I would still go out and enjoy yourself, but just be concious of what you are having and try to go for the sensible options. Although it can be incredibly difficult knowing how many calories is in restaurant food. But if you really want to lose the weight you won't let anything get in the way. When you're looking at the menu think of those scales either going down, or sticking at the same weight, then you'll be more inclined to pick the healthy option.

Good luck! Let us know how you get on after you go out next.
