Socialising with people who dont know youre on a VLCD

I hate socialising with people who dont know Im on this diet its so damn hard.

Was at a night out tonight with colleagues from work. Stuck to diet coke all evening then came the buffet.... tried to ignore it but got constant offers to get me something from it. Then kept getting told to go get some food.... tried the whole 'Im fine' thing but unfortunately there was no scope to get up and wander to talk to other people (party in a hotel so we were all sitting at the one table)

Rightly or wrongly I opted to have 2 small pieces of chicken and 2 cocktail sausages.

Just checked my ketostix and theyre still showing a lovely shade of pink so fingers crossed Im still in ketosis....

Chicken and sausages will be fine I'm sure. I tend to tell the world and his wife, whether or not they're interested, that I'm on a diet so I don't get that problem! Have a fab Easter :) x

When this happened to me I put some food (mostly things I hate) on a plate and just kept it in front of me "for protection" :)
I don't like to tell people I am on a diet, somehow I feel 20 pounds heavier in their eyes from that moment on

I tell everyone I'm on a diet now but they don't believe me...
I don't blame them, Burger King was my second home lol

Ahhh I hate this too! I took my own bottle of water out with me so I wouldn't be tempted to have a glass of wine, one person called me a "loser" :( but i'm gonna prove them wrong and not let it get to me!! x

No you will prove them right as you LOOSE loads of weight lol!!!

I had the same yesterday and felt very pressured to eat - I don't like telling people I am on a diet as failed so many times before they just roll their eyes!!! Rude though being called a loser - more reason to prove them wrong!

I think you did the right taking protein rich food. Unfortunately food is very much a social thing and people feel offended if you don't take part so it's best to have a little something (chosen wisely) then they get off your case. And saying that for me I still feel part of the party etc.

I think people are SUCH saboteurs, because the moment you tell someone you're on a diet when they offer you/ask if you wanna order food, they say 'Oh come onnnn, it's just a little bit' or 'noooo, you don't need to diet' or 'have a day off'. It just makes it harder!

I had a night out last night and ended up giving in to freinds saying have something small so ended up eating some grilled chicken and green leaf salad! Lets hope that's not taken me off track too much!! Oh and I also had a glass of wine with soda!! :-(
Social situations are a bit on a pain I can't believe I gave into it!! Oh well back on track from today! Day 14 starts tomorrow!
