Starting 25th July 2011 - 5.5 stone to lost

#1
Hi all
I'm starting Exante tomorrow, for the last time. I've been overweight most of my life and now find that I don't want to be tired and old before my time. I have 5.5 stone to lose and would like to do it in 5 months since my niece and nephew are visiting from Australia.
I think I'm lovely looking but feel it's 'nice face, shame about the weight'.
I have a lovely partner who loves me the way I am, but I think also secretly worries I'll leave him if I'm slim. I totally adore him but my confidence is at an all time low.
So here I am, hoping for support and hoping to give support.
Lots of love

Thats great Penny, just think if we can do it...a slim christmas...be my first one ever I reckon! Had a holiday few weeks ago, and did the usual, get photos developed then bin all the rubbish ones of me. Cant do that again, for sake of few months will power...surely we get there!! Good luck with tomorrow.

Hi again. Well I've managed to complete day 2. For every day I'm 100% TS I add £10 to a special savings account. By my calculation I should have about £1400 saved by the time I'm finished this.
I found today was quite difficult and kept popping into the spare bedroom to check the wardrobes full of lovely clothes and going to the charity shop to see what else they had in stock today. I really tried to keep busy as work is quiet at the moment. I've made friends with the manageress and have told her that I'm doing this diet. She said she would encourage me each time I come in (which is daily at the moment ha ha).
I have had 'thoughts' today but just keep reminding myself of why I'm doing this. A random 5 (in no particular order) are:
- be healthier
- feel confident and sexy
- to be more active
- to get into some amazing clothes
- to feel 'normal'
Thanks for reading.

Hi Penny, Yes am similar in aims. Its the feeling normal bit for me, my partner is a leaner build than me (who isnt ho ho) so want to be not such a stark comparison to him when we're out and about. Those hols photos made me cringe. Work mad busy at the moment so think should be bit easier during the day. Thats why think I struggle so much to loose weight the 'normal way'. Get to 3 oclock realise missed lunch, then have rubbish as thats all there is where Im based. Then day after forget my lunch and have to get it from near work, and its unhealthy...and blah blah, vicious circle.
Thats why hope I take to this .... always can have an option in my bag.
Am sure your first few days be worse ones till we start seeing results!

Hi Dawn. When I met my partner we were the same weight (he's 6 foot 1). Fortunately I lost weight since then, but managed to put some of it back on due to illness and laziness. I'm feeling determined this time though.
I work from home when I'm not travelling so it's not too difficult for me to find distractions. Unfortunately they're not always the enjoyable ones, eg hoovering and mopping. On the up side, I weighed myself this morning at Boots (was meant to do it Monday but couldn't get there). Since the last time I weighed in (2 weeks ago), I've lost 7lbs, although I've only been on the diet since Monday. I'm considering this a huge plus and can't wait until next Monday to get a full week's worth of weight loss.

Hi penny, well another half decent day then!
How good is that 7lbs off already..bloomin heck Id be over the moon. On usual diets Im a plodder, half off, one off etc.... soul destroying when all you think about is food!
Am similar in work too, going part time or no time (dependant on what my work decides!) in few weeks and working at home for the rest of the time. Cant wait to not do so many miles in a day!
Today not so bad, choc shake lovely, choc/orange bar a bit odd, and veg soup not too bad either! Ive eaten worse! Have good rest of day...Im off to plough through 2 litres of water!!

Hi Dawn. Sadly I wasn't well last night and had a little food, which shouldn't take me out of ketosis. Back to it today though. Yes, 7lbs is great, although I'm sure most of it is fluid. I'll get a better idea on Monday as to what amount of loss I've had.

Hi ladies. Beginning of Day 4. I had a bit of a turn yesterday so couldn't remain 100%, although I didn't blow it thankfully. I'm back to it today feeling loads better. Feeling a little bloated due to expected TOTM. I'm hoping that won't cause Monday's weigh in to be disappointing. Regardless, it took me years to put his weight on, a few months taking it off is a small price to pay.

Very true Penny... years and years and years in my case!! Hope you back feeling better today. Day 2 not so bad today...strawberry shake, toffee bar and thai chicken soup. Well as Meatloaf said two out of three aint bad!! Chicken soup never had the potential to heal me!!
Anyway...hope you have better day tomorrow!
