I am planning on starting on Lipotrim (heading down to the pharmacy in about an hour in fact :) woohoo!) but I've been doing some reading up about since I decided to give it a try. It all sounds great, and I'm very excited... But everything I have read has said "IF you are accepted to the pharmacy programme."
    What's all that about? If?
I can only assume that people with serious, on-going medical issues would be told they can't join the programme, and... there's nothing wrong with me, I'm just curious.
    Anyone know?

Certain medical conditions can prevent it, certain medications are not compatible etc and you have to be a certain BMI for one plan in particular etc.. apart from that, nothing else. I have lots of medical problems, lots of medications and they accepted me so dont worry. I think its to cover their own backs more than anything - plus more often than not its down to the pharmacy.. and some are certainly not as good as others ;) LOL goood luck xx

From what ive heard its mainly some medication that stops you from being accepted, especially ones for diabetes depending on what you take. #they also will not except anyone with a healthy BMI as to stop people becoming anorexic

Correct me, if I am wrong but I was under the impression a person's weight loss could result in an improvement in type 2 diabetes.

yes but lack of a certain amount of fat can stop absorption of some medication, thus diabetes would get worse before it could get better. its only a few drugs which need the fat to bind to to be absorbed.

Yeah, diabetes can be a problem. The Ketostix you can buy to test your ketones are actually intended for diabetics, because (according to the instructions with the Ketostix) diabetics having too many ketones can make them go into a diabetic coma.

The problem with diabetes and LT is that as you lose weight your dependence on insulin will change. This need careful monitoring and may result in changes to insulin regime. Similar happens in pregnancy, we often have labouring and postnatal women on sliding scales whereby their blood sugars are monitored hourly until they stabilise! Just means very careful management of diabetes so I could see why a pharmacy might struggle with this particular condition; maybe a GP could become involved!
