Hello everyone. First of all thank you as I am so inspired by everyone's stories and more importantly weight loss.

A friend of mine told me about LT, looked into it and decided to go for it. Hubby is giving up smoking in support so we can both suffer, bless him!

Had a lot of negative comments when I've told people all about it at work and what it entails, not put off though and I'm sure they'll be changing their minds soon when I declare national bikini day at the office!

So far I'm just trying to prepare myself for week 1 and after that it'll just be the social occasions I need to cope with. Definatly going to try the coffee and ice with the vanilla shakes and change it into an Iced Vanilla Latte! Water will be a struggle but will make sure I keep it topped up.

I'll keep checking back in and let you know how I get on.

Hey best of luck! The first three days were the hardest for me, but you just need to think of the numbers on the scale going down and it should keep you going!

Hi and welcome,
best of luck for the start on the 15th. Perhaps try to cut down your carb intake beforehand as the withdrawal won't be as bad then. Stick to the shakes, soup and flapjacks and take the water throughout the day. The first week may be hard but so worth it when you stand on the scales at the end of that first week.
Ignore the negativity from people who don't understand, remember every day why you are doing this and keep that as your focus. Set mini goals for yourself and take each day as it comes.
Most importantly if you feel any signs of weakness come on her and tell and as sure as there will be rain in Ireland tomorrow there will be someone on here to help you out.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi

Welcome to the forum!

Best of luck with your first week; as you may have discovered from looking around, the first week will probably be the hardest, but if you can keep it up through that you should be well on your way!

Wouldn't worry too much about the negative comments - they'll soon be so impressed with your loss & determination that they'll forget!

Thanks everyone, I think the support from everyone is going to be really important to me so you'll all have to get used to me!

HI rn

Welcome!!!!! Oh, you have made one of the most important decisions in your life going with LT.

It is by far the hardest diet ever, but honestly, you will not find results any quicker...it is amazing.

Your first few days, as everyone has said, will be tough, with maybe headaches, feeling yuk, trying to get the water down, etc, etc...but it is good you are starting over the weekend. I did too, and I rememer on Day 2 and 3 just having a little snooze. To help me just escape food and because of the headache from hell I had.

After ketosis kicks in, well, you will be running and you will get so used to the shakes, which you will either struggle with or enjoy straight away! I am on refeed and actually miss my shakes, that is how much you get to enjoy them.

Just always remember why you have started LT. Dont be negative; saying things like I cant eat, etc...just remember that you are doing this for a reason and food just doesnt figure in your life...BUT ONLY FOR A WHILE!! Just keep positive and remember each week you are on LT, your weight will be disappearing before your eyes.

In a few weeks time you will look back and realise how far you have come.

Just keep coming on here and you will do so well.

Have a great week.

Take care

As above.

It is the best diet in the world! I tend to block out all the negative comments, they really don't matter. And this forum will be your life line. Get through the first couple of days and you will be fine, and will be amazed by your losses. The very best of luck

Totally agree with that one. I would rather give up the food than the fags any day lol. Who knows, I might want to get completely healthy one day, we'll see!!!

Hello and welcome not only to a brilliant total food replacement plan, but to a wonderful supportive, funny, caring forum.

this place is a godsend, so use it whenever you can!

My breakfast is a latte shake, so I highly recommend them ;)

The negative comments are apain, but you will prove them wrong, as you already plan to :) any negative comments after a few weeks will be almost pure jealousy I'm afraid. And that is *their* problem, not yours.

Hope your first week goes ok - keep socialising, it definitely gets easier and soda water on ice goes down a treat, looks pretty and has the added bonus of being free/cheap!

Good luck hun, the first week is pretty rough but once you are ketosis it does get easier.

If you don't usually drink a lot of water I would recommend gradually increasing the amount you take. Have a bottle of water with you at all times and sip from it often, you'd be amazed how much you get through that way.

As for negative comments, it is one reason why I didn't tell many people. Unfortunately, as Elle-Emm says, as you start to lose weight you will get more but they will be said in jealousy. They will start to tell you you don't need to lose more to encourage you to give up before your original target. Stick to your guns and go for it!

Good luck.

I've not told many people about this "plan" but I was staying with my aunt for a while and had to and she kept trying to feed me. "Oh, just have a bit of fruit, a cherry, an apple" etc but I resisted! It's annoying but as you said, when you declare National Bikini Day, they'll be sorry!!!

:D hi and welcome to the forum xx
good luck on starting LT, it is hard for the 1st week but once you get through that it`l be the best feeling ever xx

good luck!! as everyone has said, until you're in ketosis it's hard, but as soon as you are it's just mind over matter! and not everyone gets headaches and feels rough so you might be one of the lucky ones!

spend your weekend hopping on here and it'll keep you away from the pesky kitchen!!

you'll be great!! keep motivated and as far as minimins goes, no question is too silly!!

Thank you so much everyone, I think I've discovered my new little family!

So went to the pharmacy today and signed up, they were really nice. Have just had to edit my ticker and details as I was nearly a whole stone heavier than I thought I was (it's actually made me more motivated now).

Last night of freedom tonight, or should I say first day of freedom tomorrow. Will be free from making decisions about food and no more disguising my voice on the phone to the chinese takeaway (so they don't realise it's me who rings every night and doesn't cook)!

Have also been shopping and stocked up on 28 litres if water, coffee, tablet sweeteners and peppermint tea. This is a very cheap week of shopping!

Right, Day 1: Worried waking up this morning. Had my usual black coffee & sweetener (so no change from normal life there). Had my first shake (Vanilla with coffee and lots of ice) it was delicious. Got straight onto the water and did my 2 litres by 12pm.

Hit lunchtime and went for the Chicken Soup, really worried about thjis one as a friend heaves at the mere thought of it and a lot of people here aren't too keen...... loved it!

Finished my 3rd litre of water by 6pm and I'm now looking forward to my Mint Hot Choc (hot chocolate with peppermint tea) this evening.

Has been very strange all day though, have pee'd about 30 times and I am thinking about food a lot. It's not even hunger, just keep forgetting about LT and catch myself wondering what's for lunch before remebering!

I know it's going to get harder this week but I'm really pleased with my first day. Hubby also took my picture so I can compare and contrast as I go.
