    Hi All

Have decided Im fed up being overweight and as my 40th birthday is just around the corner I dont want to be fat and forty

I gave up smoking in February after 20 years and never thought I would be able to do it , but now Ive kicked that I am turning my attention to my big belly lol

I have about 46 lbs to lose, Ive tried cutting down on wht I eat but am far too undisciplined , I think I need a regime like Slimfast to keep things simple

Hoping to see results quite quickly so that I dont lose motivation

    Sally

    Phoenix,
Well done ont eh decision, and here is agreat place to get help adn support. Quick results often don't last. Take it slowly and aim for small loses- 1 lb a week is fine! Keep with it whatever path you follow and best of luck!

    Thanks for the welcome

Im 40 in December , not trying to reach any particular weight for then but just would be nice to be losing weight between now and then rather than gaining even more

I know its better to lose weight slowly and I realise it might take me up to a year to reach target , but would be nice to have an initial good loss just to give me the push I need
If I only lose 1lb in the first week , then Im probably doing something wrong

Been hungry on and off today
had the cafe shake for breakfast and the meal replacemant bar for lunch , a banana for afternoon snack and looking forward to chicken noodles and lots of veg for dinner

If I get peckish later then Ive stocked up on the slimfast 100 calorie pretzels
Im not working today so think that makes it harder, more time to mooch around and think about food, I think it will be easier the days Im at work

Oh and went on ebay today and ordered 6 different excercise videos to dance along to until Im brave enough to join the gym

How long have you all been doing slimfast and hows it going ?

    Sally

Zumba is fab! I just wear what I would wear doing any exercise, joggers, tshirt and trainers! Depending on how popular the classes in your area are, you may need to book - I need to book mine! It's a great fitness class and really uplifting!

im really suffering with hunger pangs today
trying everything from filling up on water to distraction
think I will have to have dinner earlier that I would like as Im not going to last, will probably split my dinner in 2 , have half now and half later.
Any tips on coping with the hunger and will it get less as my body gets used to less food

you dont get the threads you have posted on showing on your user cp until you have posted 20 times , likewise with putting on an avatar, took me a while to figure that out
then when you have reached 50 you get more privileges like private messaging..... I think
    hope that makes sense

I'm on day 2 now and I find having a shake then filling my glass up with water/diluting juice really helps 'cause it's always something there to hand instead of going to have something to eat.

Also, I'm having grapes as one of my snacks today but not all at once, means I can have a grape or two when I feel peckish!

    Good luck!
