Struggling

#1
I started back on the CD 2 weeks ago after losing 2½ stone before Christmas but put most of it back on over Christmas!

Since starting SS 2 weeks ago I can't get back into it. I just keep eating to the excess, even if I eat low carbs I gorge!! Its pretty grim when I think about it. :(

I have decided to start a fresh on SS tomorrow, I have my last stone to lose I need inspiration for the last mile! Does anyone else struggle? :)

Thanks
Bev

I struggle all the time. I love food.
I did Lipotrim before cambridge but put some weight back on then decided to do CD instead. I have found it very tough to get back into it and I only have little losses compared to others. Sometimes I am not hungry but I think about food. I also love going through food books too - i am a little sad!
I cant wait to go through maintenance but scared incase I over eat again as it is too easy :(

i sometimes want miracles and want to lose half a stone a week as i am very impatient. then i need to look at it like that even a loss of 3 pounds to 3.5 pounds a week is still DOUBLE as quick as i would lose on WW or SW. Keep positive, you can do it! x

Really hope you can dig in deep.. is there anyway you could cope with an increased plan like the 1000 calorie? that way you might not feel that you are being deprived of food and still lose weight.

Just an idea.. whatever you decide, good luck! :)

I am yet to start on CD, but I am not new to dieting, so I am just hoping my thoughts might help. I think everyone struggles to a certain extent, be it on day 1 or day 1001. It's easy to do well and then fall back into old habits, but the thing to try and focus on is how much better you will feel once you reach your goal. This website is full of proof that CD (and other diets) do actually work, you just have to stay focused and not let temptation get the better of you.

There are a lot of great people on this forum who are very helpful and supportive. Not everyone has a lot of free time, but if you can spare some, I would seriously recommend spending more time on here. :)

Maybe Cambridge would benefit from group sessions like Lighter Life? Living on packs and waters great for losing the weight but it doesn’t really address your food issues or prepare you psychologically.:eatdrink023: I know maintenance is supposed to help but I think we need to be prepared well in advance with something a bit more intense.:17729:

Hi :) I'm not on CD but did complete LL, including the 12 weeks of RTM....so thught I would comment in passing. :)

FOr me, the counseling in LL made all the difference in the world. Not only did I complete the diet and lose nearly 10 stone, but I am 6 weeks post completion of management, and I am at exactly the same weight. I know its only 6 wekks - but they have been 6 very stressful weeks (redundancy, health, pets health, finances - the usual day to day emergency's :D) and not once did I turn to food. Trust me - that is a real first ever in my life, and I know the counseling is why.

Not everyone has issues - but of rthose that do, it certainly is effective.

I feel for you Skinny Wannabe- I see a lot of times people struggle so much to do abstainanace a second time, or even following a brief lapse. I was so aware of that, I never lapsed once in all 38 weeks - I knew if I did, it'd be the end of me so I just approached the diet with the attitude that I would not put anything in my mouth that didn;t belong there. Zero tolerance. ANd I meant it.

You have one stone to go - jut remember how wuick that wil go IF you focus and stick to it. A blink of an eye. Just muster up ALL your will, maintain a zero-tolerance to failure attitude, keep your head down and blast thru those 3 or 4 weeks to do it.

Good luck. Keep us posted!!! :)

Hi wannabe - I have seen you on the posts since i first joined. I did so well when I started - the ideal stone a month off. I am still spending a fortune on CD meals but stupidly spoiling a perfect day by eating one or two really silly small things! I also like wine!! I lost 3 stone and have now put 7 pounds back on and I can feel it!!! Sat with a large glass of red now! When you find the answer please email me!

Hey Blonde Logic:) I totally agree that LL has a better maintenance plan. A friend of mine has just lost 5 stone with LL and she thinks the group sessions are great! By the way your photos are amazing! You look fantastic, really cheers me up seeing everyone's photos :D

THank you LH! :)

Yeah - the sessions as I say I feel are what makes the difference, as I did have some issues that were, erm, welllll buried, and she helped drag them all out! Hard work - but worth it.

I think its great there is CD as an alternative for those who don't need the counseling thouhg. Certainloy more affordable.

It's all good , no matter how we dot i - as long as we do it. :)

BTW - I had a look at all your photos! You have amaing makeup in some of your shots - and you look really fun and creative!! Amazing pics! Good on ya! :)

I do think emotions play a big part in our eating patterns, I must admit i've never researched LL so had no idea they have counselling as a part of the diet.

It's great to hear that it does help and can be as big a step as shifting weight.

Totally agree about Lady Hemlocks look too! ;) Having had purple hair for many years I would love to be as creative in my look :).

Wow, loads of inspirational comments. I do think that having a group to go to would help loads a bit like a CD shake morning/evening (instead of a coffee). I have issues with food thats why a conventional diet like WW is no good for me as I gorge! Since my last post I have waviered slightly nibbling on bits here and there. I need to get my mind back on track!

Thanks everyone, keep losing xxxxx

6 of one....

The counselling at LL depends very much on your group and your counsellor. I had a dreadful group who whined all the time and cheated and moaned so it was really unhelpful.. others have had fantastic groups which inspired them greatly.
I find the best thing about CD is that if you want to go alone you can.....and if you don't you can come on the forum and everyone is in the same boat!

Skinny Wannabe.....take 1 day at a time, if you slip up, put it behind you and remain focused on the end goal......you currently only have 14 lbs to go! you had achieved so much! Write a list of what it means to be your goal weight, focus on the positives that it brings.

When you are 'brain' hungry rather then 'stomach hungry' have a drink of water, take yourself for a walk, phone a friend, tidy your wardrobe, have a bath, have a facial, brush your teeth... do anything but try to stay away from food.

If you are this close to goal are you moving up the plans?
