Wondered what people think about 'diabetic' style products eg chocolate? I bought some sugar free chocolate made by sweet n low today, sweetened with maltitol. It was very very nice...... I read up on maltitol later and the bit I read suggested that it is little better than sucrose in terms of blood sugar effect. But then I found a website called diet and fitness today, that has a huge list of foods with their Gi and GL. According to that, 42g of that type of chocolate has a GL of about 6.5, so counts as low. So now I'm confused.... Any thoughts, anyone?
