Happy New Year 218!

Nothing like a shiny new diary to help with motivation as I begin this New Year full of resolutions and mini goals.

Resolutions are to lose weight, get active and stop eating chocolate, biscuits and cake.

First mini goal is to get back into the seventeens and leave the eighteens behind.

I went back to SW last Wednesday for WI and I tipped the scales at 254lbs!:scale: :tomato:

Ending 2017 2lb heavier...I feel very embarrassed and while some have said, " it could of been worse", I just cringe at the thought knowing they are right.:hide:

Time to put 2017 behind me and to make 2018 the one that counts.

Breakfast

Smoked salmon
Salad leaves

Caesar dressing standard (1 level tbsp) 3½

Turkey

Your food pictures look great. I am a bit worried about your breakfast, there is hardly anything to fill you up? :eek: I could not survive on a few almonds and an apple for breakfast and would be starving after an hour. And then I would eat anything in sight :eatdrink023:Suppose we are all different, eh? :)

Thanks for the compliment on the food pics....not sure if husband agrees with my art...as I can get a bit carried away:p...he is normally there with his knife and fork looking anxious and hungry wondering if he's going to get fed sometime in the near future.:eating:

Breakfast is a tough one for me....I rarely eat an early breakfast, I think it comes from being an ex-smoker...a milky coffee made on 250ml of skimmed milk is normally what I have and anything after that takes a bit of an effort...mind you saying that, I could easily eat a large bar of chocolate no problem because I always seem to have room for chocolate.:p

My downfall is always in the evening when I get the munchies, normally, not long after eating a big dinner...the cravings can hit hard and this is where I really need to find willpower.:whip:

If you have any advice for the evenings it would be great as I am feeling fragile as I really don't want to fail again...I would like to change the old record.

In the evenings you know your not hungry as you have just had dinner. So why not keep busy with finding a good book to read,crosswords or do a jigsaw puzzle. Just something to keep you occupied. Thats why I like knitting or card making as before you know it,it's bed time. :)

I used to not have breakfast but then found if I eat breakfast I have a smaller lunch then enjoy my dinner more.:)

You will find a way that suits you and as long as you can say the magic words 'I do not need' or 'No' when someone offers you something then you will do it.:)

I'm watching Gold Rush, reading posts, thinking about the washing in the machine as I need to put on another load...husband needs tea...the house is devoid of chocolate and if someone where put some on my arm right now I might eat it...and no, not because I'm hungry...just craving chocolate.:(

Back in a few...husband's tongue is hanging out:p

Mary I was speechless for a few seconds...totally blown away by such a big loss on SW...sometimes, I never even achieved that much on a vlcd in the first week!

The craving went about half an hour after I had posted...it was bad at the time and I was so grateful I had no chocolate in the house, otherwise it would of been a gain instead of a loss.:rolleyes:

I want the same weight loss again next week but I know that is delusional:confused:...one more pound will give me a half stone reward, so I will focus on that and any extra will be a bonus.

One of the women in my group who was at weigh in after Christmas...immediately said I had lost weight, so she could see it, this is before she knew I had.:) I reckon it was mostly bloat (water weight) from all the carbs...I do tend to retain fluid when I over indulge.

A good start to 2018! Long may it continue...
