Susie's 2022 campaign

Still no movement yet Tessa - she's had more laxatives so she's gotta blow sooner or later! But if it hasn't happened by Monday, she's off to the doctor.

HI Susie,
Wow, fruit and bag shopping sounds amazing. I always enjoy a trip to a farmers market or Waitrose (!) to inspire me to eat healthily. Nothing like a mountain of gorgeous fresh produce to get you in the mood. Good luck!

Hope your cat is 'relieved' soon xxx

I have no idea how to insert a pic any better than that! Clues, anyone?

Here's a cute cappuccino - the owner of the bar drew his moustache on it (not mine!)

Wow! All that fruit and veg looks amazing! It's making me want to go out and buy a load too! I haven't investigated adding pics yet. So not sure if there are any other ways. But I clicked on your pic and it opened in a new window and was much bigger. Better for seeing all the yummyness!

Hope you have a lovely Sunday, and that Stella gets some relief soon! xx

Morning all :)

Having a very lazy day, it's already really hot - but I don't have to be anywhere so am staying indoors and keeping cool. Also going to attempt home made yogurt later.

Still no change for poor Stella, but she's eating and drinking water, so I don't think it's too serious - but will take her to the vet tomorrow if nothing 'moves' today (see, you get not just me talking about my number 2's, now it's my cat as well :D).

B - pineapple smoothie with cinnamon; homemade hummus with focaccia (688)
L - guacamole on toasted wholemeal and small salad; plus apricots and cherries (420)
D - courgetti with green beans, spinach, passata, chilli and chickpeas (365)
Total - 1,473

Just had the hummus with smoked paprika, a little chilli jam and oil it was yummy!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sounds great....you are making me hungry and jealous, all that wonderful fresh fruit.

I know, I am loving all the fresh produce - and it's all grown locally without sprays and stuff.

Haven't had dinner, just too full! That means no veg today so will have salads and a veg curry tomorrow. But I've been having loads of water with ice and lemon slices :).

Hello Suzie..big hug as not been here in ages X
Divine food pic! Mega jealous of those cherries:) Everything looks so temptingly yummy and fresh...miles better than Aldi:D
Going to start playing catch up on your diary...I see you're doing the med diet and clean eating, I'm trying to do that with Dave but so far he's not really liking it, so will be looking to you for hints. Today's food sounds excellent, right up my street ( wish it was right on my plate! In fact I think I'll have that tomorrow :D) X

Tibbs!!! How lovely to see you back hun! I am loving the fresh fruit and veg, it's such good quality - it does take a while to get used to buying seasonally, rather than strolling into Tescos and getting whatever you want, whenever :). But am going with the flow happily now :).

I've now signed up to a weekly organic veg box...

Great idea Claire Bear - there's also some fab recipes on the Riverford Farm page.

Morning all - nearly lunchtime now and we're back in from the vet - a lovely woman, who wanted to practice her English so it was easy to explain the problem. She took an x-ray and Stella wasn't full of poo as I expected, but has a bladder infection - so it's easily treatable with tablets. She must have been number two-ing outside! Hope she keeps that up because oh my gawd her poo can smell! :D We're both feeling much happier now!

L - chickpea salad with green beans, lettuce, toms, cucumber, green pepper and greek salad dressing plus focaccia (598)
D - veg coconut curry with courgetti (437)
S - stewed apple with apricots and plain yogurt, maybe some cherries (330)

Total - 1,365

Not sure if I'll get through all that - the race is on to eat everything up before it goes off!

And bless - just had a visit from the old guy across the road who brought me a huge fig and a dozen apricots! He was trying to say something about the car and it being fresh...but no idea! :)

That sounds wonderful, I was planning on a veg coconut curry too

Coconut milk is really hard to find here and when I do find it. it's hugely expensive - so am very happy I can buy the Grace coconut milk powder sachets on Am - a box of 12 costs £6 and almost nothing to ship, yaye :).

Just having my salad now (the avo I put in my menu earlier was off) and boy is the dressing garlicky! Lucky no visitors are expected .

Oh no poor Stella :sick0019::cat:. My cat pooed in every room in my house while I was away. Hope Stella is better soon x x

Your food still sounds yummy #foodporn

Oh Buffy that's not good, he/she was obviously expressing their displeasure at you being away!

Stella is very chirpy now, thanks - squeaking away at me all day since we got back from her big adventure - and then curled up with me for a snooze on the sofa - for what was supposed to be 40 winks and ended up being nearly two hours!.

It must be the heat but I've had hardly anything to eat today - no brekkie, ate half my lunch, and will probably have the other half later. So, no veg coconut curry today - will do it tomorrow maybe, although I'm at a friend's house for lunch tomorrow. She lives in the mountains so it will be a bit cooler up there  - 34 is forecast, phew! She cooks up a storm so I'll probably not feel like dinner - but hey it won't hurt me to eat low cals for a couple of days, especially when I know it's all healthy stuff :).

Got friends at mine for lunch on Wednesday - anyone got a nice recipe for a tomato and basil tart?

So pleased that Stella has perked up since her trip to the vets. She is a little pickle though, making you think it's one thing, and it's something else.

That heat sounds awful! I could barely cope with our 30 degrees for 3 days :D

I'm not a fan of this really hot weather either El - but hopefully it's going to cool down in a few days.

Feeling slightly proud of myself on a NSV achievement. I am a shocker for thinking "Oooh I'm going to make my own skin care", or "salts are so good for your bath to help you sleep", stuff like that. Then I buy all the ingredients, put them in the cupboard and then never get around to actually doing it! I get terrible RLS/cramps at night and was about to buy some mega expensive magnesium oil on Am, when I realised (duh) that so many of the reviews said Epsom salts, made into an oil, was much much better.

- Do I have Epsom salts? Yes, patiently sitting in the bathroom waiting until my bath is actually installed!

- Did I make it up into an oil? Yes, I did!

- Do I have a glass drop bottle to put it in? You betcha :D. Even added chamomile and rose geranium essential oils to the mix.

Actually, I feel a bit duped/stupid (take your pick) - I've been steadfastly taking magnesium tablets for years (and just ordered more!) - but I've only just realised that all the experts say your body only absorbs a tiny amount that way. However, applied to the skin, it absorbs 100%. So I'm really looking forward to trying it tonight before bed :snoopyhouse:. Will report back in the morning :).

I will be interested to see how the magnesium works. I take magnesium tablets to, and Irish brand called Terra Nova which the health food shop recommends as being very natural. I find they help me sleep when I am restless. I too read that the body absorbs more through the skin and that the best place to apply it to is your tummy, regardless of where you need it as that is where it will absorb best. So I got some magnesium cream on a bogof in Holland and Barret and use it sometimes but haven't really been paying attention to how it is working

Morning!

Slapped the Epsom salts oil on last night and slept well for four hours, then got a twinge and popped three mag tablets and a potassium, and it eased up. Not sure about it but will keep trying :).

Off to a friend's for lunch, so will post menu and cals later xx
