Sounds terrible Susie. Have you had medical advice for leg cramps before.

I've had them once or twice before but not in both legs at the same time - but spoke to a mate, who said to drinks LOTS of water, that it's a sign of dehydration. I googled and she's on the money, it is indeed about getting more water down me. I'd been having sparkling mineral water (just love the bubbles) but actually I don't think it's hydrating me as much as just ordinary tap water.

Anyway it'll be good to be on Operation Glug Lots of Water, will help with SW, so I'm on my second litre so far, four by the end of the day :).

Evening all

Home from my first SW class. Not a huge class and it's only 5 mins drive from my new home so should be home fairly quickly - which means no scoffing loads of Hifis in the class! They all seem very nice and welcoming - plus I sat next to a woman with the same surname as me, how freaky is that!

From my heaviest, when I joined SW at the beginnng of last year, I've still kept off 2 stone, so am going to leave that in my stats to encourage me along and add the badges. I know that's a bit of a cheat but I need all the good vibes I can get!

Off to meal plan now - and am loving the Copy Me That app, thanks @AliGal!

It’s not cheating, you have lost that weight! Well done, I think you’ve made a good decision going back to SW. You've has a lot of success with the plan and know how it works. You can do it xx

Thanks Sarah! xx

Morning all

No cramps last night woohoo, thanks to a huge load of magnesium and lots and lots of water! Still didn't sleep great, but the whole "will I cramp up again" was playing on my mind, plus RLS about five times. Not to worry, hopefully things will improve as I lose some more weight.

B - HEB sarnie with ham and dry fried eggs, coffee
L - ham a huge salad with lots of greens, and Skinny Food BBQ sauce
D - burgers and a spinach/cabbage combo with 1 HEA cheese

A sunny day here woohoo! Hope it stays like this for the weekend.

Afternoon all and happy to report that I had an epic 8 hours sleep last night - not all in one go, but I still feel much more refreshed. After too much magnesium on Thursday night, leading to a very upset tum all day yesterday (sorry if tmi), I decided to try another tack - every time I felt the RLS coming on, I got up, made a cup of tea, walked around a bit, read, played computer games, and once it had reduced a bit, I managed to get back off ok - and no magnesium. Also lots of water - and no cramps woohoo! So today my tum is thanking me, and I'm feeling more able to get housework and cooking done :).

Batch cooking today and my mission is to use up lots of stuff in the fridge. Carrot, red pepper and squash soup; cauliflower and fennel bake; celeriac risotto; beef casserole; bolognese pasta bake; and a quiche with a pease pudding base - not tried that before, but a lady at SW was raving about it - maybe it's a northern thing LOL. If I manage to get all that made up, that's meals for the week all prepped, and just omelettes to make for brekkie. I'm using my syns up on oil and butter to cook with, modifying a few non-SW recipes, so hopefully everything will taste nice.

Can't wait to get in my new kitchen, but there may be a holdup because the house needs to be tested (by the sellers) for radon. Apparently it's all over the UK and if the levels are too high, it's carcinogenic - who knew? Still, it's worth waiting to check it's ok - which I'm sure it will be. I've asked for an exchange date of end October or thereabouts, so it's time to do more life laundry and get rid of stuff. AGAIN! :D

B/L - eggs and Joe's sossies, coffee
D - one of the above

Later - got a fair bit done - the cauli and fennel, but with a carrot and swede top, then baked. It was nicer than I expected, especially with a squirt of Skinny Foods syn free cheese sauce on top.

The beef casserole is in the IP; and I'll make the bolognese in a mo but used half the wholewheat pasta on a cheesy meatball dish. Lovely, although I only had full fat soft cheese, so 4 syns a dish, but worth it for a cold, overcast night :).

"Life laundry" - I've a ton of that to get done!

I now get my real life laundry done well. And keep my kitchen clean. I learnt that from Flylady. And I swish and swipe too.

Fingers crossed on the house.

Thanks Ali :)

Delighted to report another FABULOUS sleep, only got RLS twice, and got one stretch of five hours straight through! Sorry to go on about it but I can't remember the last time I had that much sleep in one go, and boy does it improve my outlook. It does make me wonder, though, if I'd actually been making things much worse with the magnesium? It's supposed to help relax you and help sleep - but maybe I'm one of those perverse people where the opposite happens? :classic_roll_eyes:.

Overcast here again today - it's very changeable up here in the north east lol, especially on the coast. Nothing planned, a bit of reading and tellie, and more cooking - I've got chicken to use up, so it's gonna be chicken supreme (yum!), and I found some of the syn free southern chicken coating (Tony's Kitchen) in the cupboard (more yum). Also need to prep the celeriac - otherwise it'll just linger in the fridge and then one it'll be mush - and make the soup and omelettes, and that's my food for the next four days.

B - eggs and bacon, coffee
L - crunchy Southern chicken and mash
D - Chicken Supreme and spinach
S - No syns but need to use my As and Bs - so cheese and marmite on rye cakes mmmm

Have a good day all! xx

Morning all

Had an interesting 24 hours...after much thought and discussion with my nearest and dearest, I've withdrawn from the house purchase. The land search (which came in Friday evening) threw up some worrying things, and I got quotes back on Saturday to fix the asbestos ceiling tiles (they are throughout the house, up and down) which were much higher than I expected. When you add it all up, it's just too much money for the value of the house and the location.

I feel sorry for the sellers, but they must have known about all the extra costs...for me, I'm not at all upset about it, I was never in love with the house or the fact that it wasn't in Seaham. So now I'm just going to sit back, relax a bit and look for bungalows in the area I'm currently in.

B - bacon, spinach, basil omelette, coffee
L - spicy bolognese pasta with lots of speed veg, apple, banana
D - the chicken I didn't have last night
S - a light one today, I'm nearly out of HiFis sacre bleu!

Enjoy the sun, if you have it!

Sorry to hear about the house! When me and my boyfriend were buying we had a similar thing happen. When the survey came back it threw up some worrying things and we decided to pull out! Everything happens for a reason :)

Wow Susie, more big news. But if your heart says its not right then you will never be happy with it. So right decision made.

Thanks ladies - yes I know it's the right decision, it would have been good money after bad - money which I don't have a lot of. Not to worry, off to see a bungalow around the corner from me tomorrow. Again, it needs work but a work friend is doing one up nearby and has given me exact costs for rewiring etc, so I know what I'll be up for. The inside is completely pine panelling - even the ceiling - looks like a (very small) ski lodge :D. I don't think it's hiding any horrors, these bungalows don't tend to get damp (says my inhouse specialist, she's done up a couple and seen loads), it was just the 70s and 80s trend and never got updated - https://www.kimmittandroberts.com/property-for-sale/durham/sr7-8lx/1418430

B - bacon, spinach omelette and coffee
L - veg mash with veggie stirfry and BBQ sauce, yogurt, apple, banana
D - Southern fried chicken with spinach

Feel like I'm getting back into a rhythm with food now, really happy about that :).

Yes they've already extended the kitchen and put in that little dining room, which is perfect for me. I can't tell you how much I'm actually looking forward to eating at a table! :D

And joy of joys, Ikea Gateshead do the free kitchen planning service, so might go and do that this weekend.
