I found these in the supermarket today and bought some. Can you use them just as you would ordinary potatoes? i.e. can you make SW chips, sauté them or use them as jacket potatoes? What are they like? Does anyone else have any ideas for using them other than in soup? Thanks

I love sweet potato - why not try some wedges with a touch of cajun spice - lovely! Or sweet potato mash - yum! I had a sweet potato jacket yesterday with HEXA cheddar cheese and it was just scrumptious! Use them as you would any other potato and enjoy! xxx

Thanks Devon Dumpling and MommyB. Think I'll try the wedges first of all.

I had shepherds pie last night for tea & mixed some sweet potato with the potato, very yummy. It's also very nice in curry. They're just so versatile.

My wedges were lovely - so sweet, a bit like roast parsnips, only sweeter. Might not boil them though next time, as they were very soft

I sliced them very thinly (used food processor) and layered up in a casserole dish with ordinary potatoes - again thinly sliced - lots of sliced onions - stock on them - lean pork loin chops on top and baked in the oven, delicious. Takes about 1hr30m, but would be longer if not really thin slices

sweet potatoes are fab, I make chips out of mine, or just cube it up, spray with some frylight and sprinkle with some herbs and roast it. It is also delicious added to curries, casseroles and soups etc.

Sometimes I even use it on top of my shepherds pie etc instead of normal potatoes.

Is great baked too in it's skin.

I love sweet potato and agree that they're very tasty on top of cottage pie, instead of ordinary potato. Also love them as wedges - soften very quickly, so don't need parboiling!

A nice way to cook them (goes well with roast pork) peel them, par boil, then roast them with fry light (olive oil) rosemary and garlic! Delish with roast pork and green beans! Yummy!!

i made sweet potato wedges last night and sprinkled salt, pepper and chilli flakes on them, they were the yummiest thing ever. I wanted them again tonight and went to Morrisons and they never had any sweet potato's, so thats me in a bad mood for the rest of the night :( :D. xxx
