Syns & weight loss

Trying to work out why my weight loss are small (STS, 0.5) when i feel like im following the plan correctly.

Wondering if its because i don't eat enough syns.

After looking at the diaries, journeys the ones that succeed always have at least 10 syns whereas i might only have 40 over a week (not that some wks)

Could it be i'm not having enough? :confused:

Your weight losses *aren't* small. You said in this post that you've only been doing it 5 weeks and you lost 5lbs the first week and 3lbs the 3rd week. :confused: Its only 2 weeks where you've STS or lost half a pound. You're losing *over 2 pounds* a week on average, which is exactly what you should be losing. The aim is 1-2lb per week. And you've not got loads to lose anyway, unlike some people so that's actually a lot you've lost, for your weight.

It is important to have your syns though, 5 syns is the MINIMUM.

Stop punishing yourself. Keep at it, you will get there x :)

ok - will stop stressing lol (at least I will try) - i think that fact that ive only lost 0.5 in nearly 3 wks is whats stressed me.
I've another 3 stone to go yet. (i'm only 5ft 2)
Oh & i've asked my oh to get rid of the scales so not tempted to keep getting on and off them.

Half a pound in two weeks, *IF* you STS tomorrow. Who knows, maybe you'll lose!

I know that seems a huge amount from your perspective but on the grand scheme of things it really isn't. Loads of people every year lose 5 stone, 10 stone, 15 stone, more. The first time I did this I was fifteen and lost 3 1/2 stone, (from 13 st to 9 1/2 st) and that seemed an IMMENSE amount of weight at the time, but looking back it really wasnt, it was just the stressed-out mindset Id got myself in. I feel for you hun, I wish I could help.

WI this morning - STS
Felt defleated initial but picking myself up and focusing on this week.
But still can't decide whether you should have your syns or not.
Today i've only had half syn so far. would it be 'good' to stay that way or better to eat something to use my syns???

Sw wouldn't give us syns if they didn't intend us to use them. If you are having less tham five a day then you are not following the plan properly. Even having 10 a day that's only 200 calories a day or 1400 a week. so nowhere near the 3500 you need to put on a pound.

I had a sts this week and last week and consultant discussed my food diary and said eat more and gave my syns x

My consultant scoffed the idea of syns this morning and said if i'm not loosing, im over eating anyway (i know i am definately not) so going to enjoy 10 syns every day this week and see what happens next tue morning. Mmmm treats every day can't wait!

Remember to try posting your food diary on here so people can give you advice if they spot something you hadn't noticed/thought of!

Did your c really say this?? I think I'd have had some very serious words to say to her!
Let us know how the syn thing works out. I'll bet money on it you'll lose weight this week if you stick to it x x
