Does the tax office pay these out automatically?

Not sure if I'm entitled or not, I worked part-time for 4mths, then was on maternity pay but was taxed throughout. It would be a lovely little boost if I was entitled to it x

I got one through last week, I'd no idea I was entitled to it ...was automatic but I know of people who have contacted them about their tax codes being incorrect and they have received a rebate. Sorry I can't be more help

If the tax office has the correct info and your due one it will come out automatically, but it wont be quick. If you think your overpaid give them a call, though there is a long wait at the minute, they will be able to tell you if your due a rebate. The advisor on the phone should be able to it for you. If their missing or need any more information they will be able to tell you over the phone what they need.

I got a rebate a couple of months ago from when I was first on maternity leave - around 2006/2007. I'd suggest that if you think you're entitled give them a call or you're in for a heck of a long wait!
