Just coming to end of my shakes, I still have plenty of bars left and wondered if I could use tesco's own meal replacement shakes and my exante bar as total solution. Don't really know the nutritional value of tesco's stuff and would hate to be thrown out of ketosis. I was just thinking it might save me some pennies this way. Any advice would be brill x
No you can't do this. You're already saving pennies by doing Exante, as it's the cheapest VLCD around. Exantes products are especially designed to fullfill our needs, nutritionally and they do fill us, it's best to stick with the Exante shakes and soups, you can't just make VLCD's up.
These Tesco and Asda meal replacements are NOT VLCD's they are simply meal replacements to be used with actual meal and 2 healthy snacks as part of a calorie controlled diet, very similar to Slim Fast.
If you want to do VLCD then stick with Exante, if not you can follow Slim Fast, or Asda's, Tesco's meal replacement diets, but you can't combine them..with the exception made to the Ultra Slim bars.
My mum was looking into doing the Tesco ultra slim stuff and I checked some sachets while I was in tesco the other day and they are just full of sugar so you'd be kicked straight out of ketosis.
I've convinced my mum that exante is cheaper and actually works as it gets you into ketosis so you dont feel as hungry and are less likely to want to go off and eat.
Thanks for advice bunny hops. I only wanted to do exante for another couple of wks ( am nearly at my goal) so whilst exante is cheaper to buy for 28 days bumper pack, to buy weekly works out abit pricey. Will re- think anyway, thanks again x

did you see that Exante have now got a special offer on 50 packs of shakes? 50 would work out at just over 2 weeks worth (if you were having 3 a day) so shouldn't work out too wasteful

p.s well done for being so close to goal! are you carrying on Ts until you get to goal or are you on WS? I'm nearly at a healthy BMI too and don't know what to do...

Thanks so much. Hoping to carry on TS till goal then onto WS, but think I'm gonna introduce a different food group each week abit like lighterlife. Think I'll be overly cautious not to put weight back on again. Well done to you aswell, we may have to help each other.

theyre only on sale on the vanilla shakes, so if you like vanilla its great. Im yet to try vanilla yet but the only shake i really like out the 3 ive tried is banana. The chocolate was such a let down. Theres a sale on the orange bars too, but again, i think they're bloody awful lol I do hope the soups are a bit better.

Think the vanilla shakes r like milk, they are ok and would prob b nice hot like having a hot milk, the only things I really like r the bars, Thai & veg soups & the banana shakes x
