A random post but thought would share - since being punched last fri I have been so grateful for the CD as still not able to chew. No willpower needed as even if wanted to cheat it's unlikely I could lol - silver lining to every cloud :) x

Not had it checked out as can open it just not clench teeth or chew so assumed because I can open it's fine. Has anyone had any experience with jaws and muscle sprains in them etc? Is still sore 5 days on with no real change in pain :( like I say makes temptation of eating not there lol!!! x

Hi, I'm sorry for the troubles you've got!! - well done for staying on track with your diet tho - thats really impressive! I havent got any experience with jaw pain but would really recommend that you get it checked just in case, especially as there hasnt been any improvement for 5days! If you cant face going to the doctors maybe give NHS direct a call at least you dont have to face them and they could give you some advice - I've always found them to be really good.
Hope it starts to ease for you soon take care x

Thanks very much Becky! It's been tough to stay on track especially fri night/ sat but so many things have gone wrong for me this year that I couldnt make this another excuse for failing at the diet!!

I'm at physio tomorrow on ankle with a friend so might ask her to have a quick feel to see what she thinks I should do - got a feeling I need an xray but not got 4hrs to sit about in a&e for!!

    x

hope the physiotherapist can help - I know what you mean about the 4 hrs wait - where I live my doctors do an out of hours service where if you phone in the evening you can pop to the hospital and see the GP on call - that way you dont have to wait and if you need an x-ray they just send you straight round for one saves having to wait in a&e just a thought - dont know if they do that kinda thing everywhere tho??

You need to get checked out hon. The sooner the better, it's not normal for it to still be hurting 5 days on & if you leave it til the BH weekend it will be busier at A&E/Out of Hours.

It's NEVER OK for a man to hit a woman. I hope you can flush this pond scum out of your life. It's better to be on your own than be with someone like that.

Brilliant, so glad to hear this. People go with ridiculously trivial things to A&E so don't be worried, you really need to be there. And then you can enjoy the BH weekend without worrying about it getting worse.

I hope everything turns out OK & nothing's broken x

Just an update if anyone is interested :) after 6 different docs looking at my X-rays they think it is dislocated and I've been referred to max facial specialists (think that's what she called them) & will be seen within a week. Best advice from them until then - eat soup and mashed potato lol - still thankful am on cd so can get all nutrients etc :) x
