Hi all, I'm another one starting in the New Year to finally get down to my target weight of 9st and to look good (hopefully with a 6-pack!). I'm going to be combining calorie counting with exercise to do this, and I'm using MFP to help me (user name alwyndacara if anyone wants to add me!).

I'll be consuming 1700 cals to start with, which is my TDEE less 20%, in line with Helloitsdan's advice in this thread, and trying to get as much cardio and weight training as I can (starting slowly, of course, I don't want to injure myself at the beginning!).

Day 1 was yesterday:

Breakfast (350 cals):
2 x crumpets (204)
Butter (72)
Apple (72)
Hot lemon (2)

Lunch (217 cals):
Omelette: 2 x eggs (176), red pepper (30), mushrooms (6), cherry tomatoes (5)

Snacks (519 cals):
Bounty (278)
Prawn sandwich with a tsp of pesto (241)

Dinner (640 cals):
Turkey curry: 150g turkey breast (150), orange pepper (25), canned tomatoes (28), onion (23), balti paste (91), rice (178)
Nakd cocoa orange bar (145)

Total: 1,726 cals - slightly over my target but still well under my TDEE!

I also did 30 mins on the stationary bike, burning 274 cals, which isn't great, but it's a start!
 
Yesterday's food (Thursday 3rd):

Breakfast (286 cals):
2 x crumpets (204)
Butter (72)
Tea (10)

Lunch (216 cals):
Boots Shapers sushi (216)

Dinner (597 cals):
Pasta bolognese: 125g extra lean beef mince (181), yellow pepper (15), canned tomatoes (44), mushrooms (6), cherry tomatoes (10), capers (4), 50g pasta (74), 4g grated parmesan (15)
Kit Kat Chunky (248)

Snacks (501 cals):
Salt & vinegar crisps (129)
Tea with semi skimmed milk (30)
2 boiled eggs (176)
Hot chocolate (166)

Total: 1,600 cals - 100 under target of 1,700 but over BMR so it's ok!
