You can make a pretty good cheesecake with silken tofu, just a bit of common sense, i.e. replacing the sugar and other no-nos. I'll see if a can find a recipe to post.
I know it's not savoury but a nice treat nonetheless.

I've had it and I love it! I tend to marinade it, tofu itself is quite bland but will pick up the flavours of anything you cook with it and it is quite filling and low in calories so I find it's a great substitute for chicken. You can cube it and dry fry it after marinading until it goes brown on each side and perhaps add greek yoghurt and some garam masala or other spices to make a curry-style sauce. Tofu isn't to everyone's taste but you never know x

I like it with a bit of soy sauce, ginger and onion.

The silken type is good for proteining up muffins, cakes etc makes them extra filling.

Yeah I get mine in Tesco but as always they only stock what sells so if people don't buy it/look for it in your local Tesco it might not be stocked x

The silken stuff comes in tetra packs on the shelf, depends on the supermarket where though.
The silken may be called firm but its still soft and good for baking, desserts and fake eggs.
It tends to be the brand mori-nu.

The firm sort is usually in the chiller with the quorn. Cauldron is the usual brand, comes in a block like cheese. Dont buy the ready marinated pieces they are disgusting. Far better to use the method described above dry fry to get out the water, then marinade, then cook.

"ready marinated" in what though? Check the ingredients. For the yoghurt cake, you need plain...

The yoghurt cake is nice without the tofu actually! I couldn't find it last weekend, so made it without... yum! (I cut it in tiny squares so that I don't eat it in one go!)

oooh! thank you MF25... (I admit that the huge weight loss seems a long time ago now - and predates my discovery of the Dukan diet of course... but Dukan has helped me stay there ish).

It's still nice to get a compliment! Particularly on weigh in days with a slight weight gain :(

No idea if this is Dukan friendly or not but a block of tofu, in the processor with a couple of tablespoons of soya cream (guess would it ok without), sweetner and a tablespoon or 2 of cocoa powder, makes a yummy choc yoghurt type dish, ideal for brekkie.

nope! no soya cream... and only 1 x teaspoon low fat cocoa powder per day IF you're about to chew your own arm off. Otherwise, I'd keep well away!
