    hey all...
i am on induction and was wondering about peoples thoughts on tomatoes?
from what i can tell atkins himself didnt have them on his induction list but they do appear in the food list in the book i bought.
in context, i am wondering whether is is ok to have a couple of tinned tomatoes with my cooked breakfast?? (if so, how many carbs?)
    thanks....

You have to be careful with this one. There are more carbs in 1 tomato than there are 6 cherry tomatoes. Different types of tomato have different carb counts. I think its 5.6 per normal tom & 2.6 per 6 cherry.

I'll just have a look in my book to be sure though.

Off the top of my head are they not in the second list of things you can have 1 cup of a day?

I count a normal salad tomato as 5nc, but I dont eat the seeds, nasty slimy things.

There is confusion about this, in his first book in '72 Tomato's were not allowed, I have noticed in subsequent books that they can count towards your 20 carbs a day. They are quite high though.
