Trying for a baby and CD!

#1
Hi All

I did the CD and lost 3 stone for my wedding back in 2007 but the weight has gradually gone back on and i am now half a stone heavier then when I started the first time!!

Me and my husband are now trying for our first baby so thought losing some weight will help but I also wanted to know if doing sole source will affect me ovulating?

If anyone has conceived whilst doing the CD will be great to hear from you

Thanks
Denise xxx

does anyone know if it'd affect the baby if you fall pregnant while on sole source cos obviously you won't know you are pregnant till 4-6 weeks??

I too fell pregnant after loosing 6 stone but sadly it wasnt meant to be, I picked myself up and got back on cd and fell again 5 weeks after the m/c.

My little lady is now 9 months old

I dont have regular periods and found out when i was about 6weeks while doing ss

i got pregnant both times on cd - found out april 06 that i was pregnant with my daughter and after doing cd for 5 1/2 months in july 08 i found out i was pregnant again, but lost the baby and fell straight away (you are very fertile after a m/c) in the august 08 and had my son april 09.

i think it's the mix of nutrients. many ladies do fall pregnant. doing ss or ss+ won't harm the baby. it's very very small at 4-6 weeks, like a pin prick, and your body will take all it needs for your baby first and leave you with nothing.

first time i was on the 790 plan and 2nd time round i was on the 810 plan then moved up to the 1200 plan when i lost the baby i stayed on the plan and got pregnant again.

i fell pg on CD. it makes me super fertile as all the vits in the packs make my body in prime condition for breeding!

Thanks... im not an expert on cd & preggy :D but i have been preggy twice before and the first time i was hardly eating anything and boozing it up almost nightly! lol (wasnt trying then obviosuly!) and the second i my diet was so poor and i still got preggy

There have been loads of women on here that have been in the full swing of CD for months then fall preg with very good pregnancies xx

Good luck!

I got pregnant 1st month of trying and we only dtd twice that month. I know lots of people who have fallen pregnant quickly whilst on CD.

Fortunately I knew when I ovulated, when conception should have happened and then was able to test after about 8 days past ovulation with a early test.

I've heard of people having mc early on whilst being pregnant but still ssing. Just be careful. If you check out fertilityfriends.com you can learn about methods to increase your chances of conception, and recognise the signs of early pregnancy.

aww, thanks very much loopy for all that info. we've gone and bought a clearblue fertility monitor as my periods are irregular (tmi), used it for the first time last month and was convinced i was pregnant but no  so fingers crossed for this cycle :) but i need to do something about my weight anyway so i thought i'd give the CD a whirl and see how it goes. I wish i'd chosen to start this week instead of next but we're away to glasgow next weekend and i didnt want to go to restaurants and eat nowt so i thought i'd best start the week after. Thats a question actually...when you ss and you've been asked by hubby "you want to go out for tea"? hmmmm, do i go and just not eat ? lol xx

Ohh I know that feeling, I went through loads of OPKs the 1st month of trying then got stupidly excited when it came up postitive lol.

Vitamin B6 and Agnes Cactus (sp) are meant to be good for lenthening your cycle if your luteal phase is short. Have a look on www.hitched.co.uk (under members there is a discussion forum, go on the baby talk one) or www.thedeadwood.co.uk (which is also hitched but it's a long story why there are two forums). Both are brilliant for TTC advice - a lot of them use fertility friend too - that's how I found out about it and worked 1st time of charting with both my little ones.

Re the diet - I say to my husband it's not forever!
