Turnip

Quick query from a non cook. When the list says turnip flesh only - am I right assuming that I simply peel, cut and boil or is there something else I should be doing?

Yep that's fine you just can't have the tough outer skin. You can boil, steam, oven roast, mash, chip it - anything you want really! X

I have to admit, this rule makes me laugh... are there many people out there who'd LIKE to eat the tough outer skin of the turnip??:D But then again, maybe I'm missing out!!

oooh this could be an interesting alternative to mashed potato when eating with the bf :) Hadn't thought about mashing turnip :)

It was really nice I feel very full. The curry is a really nice flavour and I picked the turnip chips up and dipped them in it was lush :)

Definately! Bought one in the shop yesterday so i can give it a try :)

report on turnip chips - very convincing (though mine weren't very crispy)

I thought about putting fry light on them to crisp them up but not sure if it was ok or not. I over cooked mine so they went crispy .

i used a little oil on mine and ovened them.

Oooooh now that's a good idea, who'd have thought you can make turnip chips!
