Hello, im thinking of starting extra easy as I see alot of people have success on it.
Everywhere I read its all about calories in and calories out.

I cant quite work out how this diet would work but people seem to be proving it wrong all the time.

What im wondering really is it because people eat whats available on the extra easy + their syns and come in under maintenance on a calorie counter or could I really eat a HUGE bowl of pasta for dinner and tea with 2/3 vegetables and some chicken etc and really lose weight?

In short yes you can.

In reality ALL diets work to kcal deficit. They just achieve it in different ways. SW is no different in that respect. It achieves it by ensuring 1/3 of all meals are nutrient dense but kcal light superfree. This and the combination of free foods that are often protein rich (giving natural satiety) and low GI (reducing blood sugar spikes) mean that you get full and stay full, reducing the need to pick and snack. Limiting syns caps the 'naughties' whilst allowing treats to sensible degrees to prevent feelings of deprivation.

Its essentially all the best bits of all other diets all rolled into one amazing plan. It works. It really does.

I find slimming world amazing, and if definitely does work and also helps you to eat more healthily.
I feel so much better with myself and I haven't even reached my club 10 yet. Apart from losing weight my skin is more clearer, I have more energy, and I feel much happier!
I would recommend giving it a go.. :)

It's really very flexible, people have summed this up perfectly in this thread but feel free to spend the Syns you have for the day on whatever you like.
Some choose to have free meals and Syn snacks or alcoholic drinks, others choose to add Syns to their meals.
The beauty of this plan is flexibility and allowing yourself the choice to do what you like with those Syns to fit in with your lifestyle.

The Extra-Easy plan in particular is designed to allow you the option to make meals for the entire family, not just yourself and for everyone to enjoy it.
Sometimes people follow the red and green plans, they are more structured than extra-easy but are still enjoyable and you can mix and match if ever you feel you get bored. :)
