Anyone been to any of these places?
Hire a Car or Motorbike in the US?

Me & OH are planning to get married in Sturgis South Dakota Aug 2014 during the Motorcycle rally week

We are planning to fly to NY sightsee for a day or so , then hire a car and drive to Michigan, to stay with friends, and then ride to Sturgis with them for the rally week, get married in that week there, ride back to Michigan and then drive back to NY for flight home

Anyone been to this part of the US before?
Any tips on driving over there?
Places of interest to look out for?

Any other advice?

No need for a car in nyc. Alamo car rental is very affordable. Take the sat nav option though we drove through most of california but ditched the car in San Francisco as public transport is excellent like new york.
