    Hi all,

I'm suffering from cystitis at the moment, and I was wondering whether any of you know how much bicarb I should be using to try to treat it, and how often?

First tonsillitis, now a bladder infection, lol!

I use a level teaspoon in a large glass of warm water, then another after an hour if symptoms remain and carry on. It tastes foul so drink quickly!

Ooo, hadn't thought of that! Hmmm...ok, well may have to reduce the amount slightly, but hopefully my bp tablets can cope for a day or so! :)

Cranberry juice is the ultimate cystitis reliever! If its not gone in a couple of days, phone the GP, you might need some trimethoprim xx

I was told by the nurse not to drink Cranberry juice during an attack but to drink it beforehand as a preventative.
Tried OTC remedy for cystitis and it didn't work nearly as well as bicarb. Mind I use bicarb for everything from indigestion to cleaning the fridge lol

Well I made a doctor's appointment in the end as there looked like there was blood in it this morning. Saw the nurse practitioner who gave me 3 days of trimethoprim. I had 3 days of that last time, but it just came back twice as bad afterwards :sigh:
