Off this weekend to move up to leicester to live with my partner of 4 years, i am dreading it.. leaving my eldest child to be with my mum till the summer so she can finish school etc, and i dont want to drag her up to have to come home again (she has problems)

Just so worried it wont work out, his life style is so different to mine and i dont drive, i know theres a bus and mother and toddler groups etc, i need to get my bum into gear to find these.. I am just so worried about my daughter, she wants to stay with my mum, more for her to do here, just dont wanna leave her, but we have all discussed it and she be better off here with my mum till atleast the summer.. want to make sure i can settle up there first..

and then theres the diet... i am worried i will end up eating, cus he is allways eating (he skinny) ... but i need to make sure i dont.. so i be very busy on here refreshing when its dinner time.. lol he is the type to be like you want anything? its nice, are you sure? blah blah ... and when he goes chippy he will buy me something "just incase".. dogs have it then!

oh oh am i doing the right thing?

I don't know if you are doing the right thing or not ..... but if you din't go for it you might regret not trying.

I'm sure all the little things can be discussed and sorted out and if your daughter sees how happy you are, maybe she'll come and visit during the summer holiday and then want to stay.

As for the eating - remind your OH how important this is to you .... and if he doesn't tempt you and you come on here to get support I'm sure you'll be fine.

Good luck for the start of your new adventure!

Try not to worry - you've thought all this through and you've made the decision. It's always a case of 'what if' when you make a big decision but i am sure you are doing the right thing. Summer will soon be here anyway!

As for your weight you are doing brilliantly so don't worry too much, just do your best!

i think befor you move you must have a chat to him hun and make sure he understands your diet commitments properly and tell him being offerd food dont make you happy and as your already sad about your daughter dieting and moving you dont need any unwanted pressure added.. as for your daughter enjoy the break hun its only a few months away she will be with you again moaning about the latest spot and bf lol.. as for parent classes try the local schools and chech with your new health visitor or goggle it hun im sure your make new friends in no time.. goodluck with everything xxx

Hi amethyst,

You are very lucky to have the support of your mum and that your daughter wants to stay so that is good.

It is stressful moving to a new place but it is also an adventure and who knows how it will work out, but sometimes in life we have to take a leap of faith...for as the say nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Be sure you bring the dogs with you so that you can keep giving them the take aways:)

Has the dogs gained weight:confused:
