Wedding Panic!

Hi All,

I am just starting TS again after a good few years and a good deal of weight gain since I last tried in 2012!

I am getting married abroad in just under 10 weeks and I really need to lose 2 - 3 stone in that time. I am currently 18st 13lb :( is this loss possible in that amount of time??

This time round I am really struggling to get into the swing of things and im panicking that if I carry on the way that I am im not going to be able facing my wedding pictures.

Is there anyone out there who would like to buddy up or has any advice for me to help me get started.

Please help xx

Lots of people lose that amount if they stay on TS and drink plenty of water, especially if you have quite a bit to lose. I don't lose it that quickly, but everyone is different. Men seem to drop the weight quicker, but whether you are male or female, I would think at just under 19 stone you could easily lose that and maybe a bit more. I could lose weight much quicker when I was younger than I can now. The main thing is to stick to it which is hard. Just keep the end goal in sight when you are socialising and stick to water, without lemon or lime slice as citric acid can knock you out of Ketosis. I didn't realise this for ages and I couldn't work out why my scales barely budged some weeks.

Once you've lost the weight, don't go crazy with eating and drinking once you are back from your honeymoon because the weight will go back on again, and all that hard work and denial will be lost. I've lost and regained several times mainly due to food and inactivity.

I am on TS and have lost 9lb in just over two weeks. I lost 7lb in the first week and only 2lb in the second week so I felt a bit down but I know it goes in waves and next week will be better. I am going to a family wedding abroad in October and no-one knows just how much weight I've put on in the past couple of years. I want to lose at least 3 stone by then. I meant to start in January, then half heartedly started in March, but now I am on TS and sticking to it apart from a couple of blips - eating horseradish sauce straight from the jar, eating sundried tomatoes still glistening with oil speared out of the jar and marmite from the jar which is probably why I was only down 2lb last week. I crave more flavour and sometimes at night I am so ravenous I could practically gnaw my own arm off. I'm drinking loads of water in the evening to ward off the hunger but I have to get up to go to the loo during the night, something I never normally have to do.

I sign on most days so let me know how you are doing and any questions or concerns. I first did Exante in 2009. The range has increased so much since then. It used to be four different shakes, four soups and 2 days which came in a mixed pack. No other options back then. What do you like best?

Keep motivated. Put a picture of your wedding outfit up and imagine how good you will look in it especially 2 or 3 stone lighter.

Thank you Julie x

I really like the bars more than the shakes (cant stomach the soups or meals). Just realised where I have been faffing around for so long that the shakes and bars I have ordered have now gone out of date!! Going to be ordering some more next week so I am trying to just do low carb / low sugar for the next couple of days until I get them.

I am going to Vegas to get married. I have been a couple of times before when I was smaller (16st and 17st) and struggled by the end of it when I was 17st. I have to lose at least the 2 stone otherwise a) im not getting into the plane seat b) gonna be hot bothered and tired, and most importantly c) the dress is not going to look good.

Vegas for your wedding. Wow, that is so exciting . Like you one of my fears is having trouble getting into a plane seat or needing a seat belt extension.

I love the soups, especially the Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato one but all of them if I add some hot pepper sauce or plenty of pepper. I have eaten quite a few of my Exante packets that are out of date. I buy a huge amount and then don't start or have something coming up so I put it off and it slips and slips, then when I eventually start some are near their expiry date. I keep mine in a cool larder and as they aren't made up and are still sealed I've decided to go forit. I haven't noticed any difference in them but I take a multi-vitamin if they are expired just in case. People sell them on ebay when they are a few months out of date and people buy them, so others must eat out of date shakes etc as well.

I meant to say that Groupon are doing a special deal on Exante shakes if you need to buy some. It says it expires on 27 June but it is still active. Once you purchase from Exante you'll get an email from Groupon and you have to click the link which takes you to Exante. You enter your code on the Exante page and if you choose the standard delivery you'll get delivery included. https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/gg-exante-diet-30 Also if you are not a Groupon member or join again with a new email address you can get £10 off your first purchase over £25. That means you can get four weeks of shakes for £29.99.

Good luck spriggit! the last time i did TS i managed to lose about 11lbs in my first week and then 6 in the second and 4 each week as i went on. i started just shy of 18st... make sure you drink plenty of water - water is key! aim for AT LEAST 3 litres every day. if you crave something sweet or fizzy, go for coke zero - literally one of the only fizzy drinks you can have without it messing up your diet...
Add in some exercise every day, follow a youtube video or something if you don't want to join the gym - i like the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred - really helps with toning and personally i feel like i see more of a difference in my size with the exercise!
Here's a link in case you want to try!

Thanks guys! xx

Well today is my day one - Hubby to be decided to take me on a unplanned weekend away so today is officially day one!! tried on a dress to wear to another wedding we are going to just after we are married and I was horrified!!

Had a black coffee so far and going to have a bar this morning and maybe one for lunch with a shake for dinner :)

Find it really hard at work at the moment as no one I work with has a weight problem and half eat their body weight in chocolate and dont put on a pound and the other half are gym mad and clean eat. As soon as they see a shake or bar I get a lecture!! Just want to scream at them sometimes they dont know what its like!!

Will keep this updated as it really does help keep me motivated xx

What a lovely treat, a weekend away. Hope today goes well for you. Exante recommends just one bar per day in your three meals, but it's just a guideline. The key is drinking plenty of fluids, preferably water or black tea or coffee or one can per day of Coke Zero. MissMiax is right about the exercise and the youtube video is a great idea. When you are working you can walk in your lunchtime, walking up a few flights of stairs instead of going the whole way in the lift, getting off the train or bus a stop earlier and walking the rest of the way. It will all help you not only shift the pounds but also tone up and that's just as important when you want to look good in your clothes.

Don't worry about the people around you trying to get you to do clean eating etc. So what feels right to you and something you can stick to. Even doctors think that a VLCD is a great way to kick start weight loss and counteract type 2 diabetes now. You have a great goal, your wedding, so don't let them spoil you getting into your dress and looking great.

Urgh, really annoys me when people think what you're doing isn't right for you - you stick at it and when you get to where you want to be, control it with all the clean eating malarkey! Sometimes what people don't understand is when you love food and begin restricting it, you NEED to see a major-ish drop for you to feel like you're doing something to kinda stop you from going back to your old ways...
I know how you feel when it comes to your work colleagues not having any problems with food. the ladies where i work are VERY petite; like size 4/6 kinda petite - a few are seriously clean eaters and then the rest literally eat junk all day.
You stick it out, you've got something to look forward to, think of the date as your 'cheat day if you stick to it'. i feel like when you have a physical goal/day to look forward to, it helps you feel more motivated - that way you can count down the days rather than the pounds!

My doctor wasn't really impressed that i was on a VLCD, but was impressed that i managed to keep it off and that i'd changed the way i felt about food in general.

Hope your week is going well hun!x

Thanks MissMiax :)

Not had a great week to be honest. Have had clients in at work and there have been lunches so I have been trying to stick to low carb as much as I can but you cant really low carb with sandwiches and pasta salad!!. TOTM has arrived as well so really not feeling fabulous :(

Treating tomorrow as my proper start date as I have a day off work and will have 3 days to get into the swing of things with no interruptions or funny comments xx

I know as soon as I have that first week big drop (hopefully) that It will more than motivate me to keep at it and ignore the comments xx

Going to stick to the shakes as much as I can and have a bar instead if I really struggle.

it's ok to fall off the wagon, as long as you get back on! I've had weeks where i'd done just bars, as long as you remember to keep on top of your water intake i don't think it actually affects whether you fall into ketosis or not... some of the meal packs are not that bad TBH, though the desserts are pretty VILE. apple crumble and custard was the only one i actually liked lol. it's so hard with so many temptations around you! I'm looking forward to hearing what your inital drop is!
think of us as your friends that you need to answer to :p x

lol sounds good to me.

been low carbing over the weekend and today i am just doing shakes with a bar at lunchtime (they have ordered pizzas for a meeting grrr) but Im sticking to just my bar.

Im not going to weigh myself until next monday and see what I can get off.

My parents have bought me a proper wedding dress for my wedding at the weekend which fits fine at the moment. I need to send it for alterations on the 19th August so Im trying to get as much off as I can by then and keep going for the remaining 4 weeks up until the wedding so I can get it taken in a bit and it still be comfortable on the day x

I resisted the pizza!! :D so proud of myself!! But lo and behold the usual suspects asked why I was just eating a bar so I just said it's food so what is his problem! I'm not gonna let anyone deter me this time x keep looking at the pictures of me in my dress and the thought of it not fitting is keeping me on the straight and narrow. Feeling a bit peckish so going to have 2 bars and a shake today. Hubby to be is back from a few days away tonight but I'm not going to give in if he says he wants a takeaway for dinner xx well official day 1 TS is nearly done and I'm feeling confident xx

Tried to order this and it won't accept the code on the Exante site. It says the voucher is valid but keeps kicking it back. Phoning Exante but if it can't be resolved then that's £40 gone :(:(:(

If it won't work on the Exante site and you have purchased the deal in the past seven days from Groupon, then Groupon will have to refund it. It qualifies under distance selling rules. If it has expired, Groupon should have removed the offer. If you bought the deal some time ago, then it is up to Exante/Groupon whether they want to honour it. Start off by being pleasant, but if they don't honour it then I'd go on all the forums, facebook, etc and vent your anger. I ordered it about three weeks or so ago, after 27 June and it definitely worked then . I chose standard delivery which was included and it arrived a few days later. I didn't realise the offer was still on Groupon.

Well done, you should feel proud of yourself. Stay confident. There are lots of times I want to weaken, but I think about my clothes and the wedding I am attending in October and the outfit I have bought for it (I'm not the bride, just a guest) and it keeps me strong. I want to keep my weight for the long term so I will keep going after the wedding. Today I weighed myself and I am down 2.5lb today, so that's a stone since I started. Woohoo. I had my Exante break week last week, but had Exante for breakfast and either Exante or a light lunch most days and a healthy supper of salmon, steak, chicken and salad and vegetables each evening. I really looked forward to the evening meals. It was good to have the break and I am happy to do another three or four TS weeks before my next break.

In this weather it's easy to drink plenty of water, i'm drinking about 3 litres a day and I think that makes a major difference to the success of Exante.
