Weekends away...

Hola Slimmers.
Hope you're all doing fab. I have a bee in my bonnet today...as much as I love going away and my birthday :) I feel as though the last two weeks have really been difficult for me. I had a wedding last week, then a birthday meal with work colleagues. On the one hand I had a wonderful birthday weekend and pleased to report that I didn't overindulge really...and for the first time probably ever I actually was completely conscious of making sensible food choices or as sensible as the menu would allow. So I came back feeling happy that I hadn't gorged myself on every last scrap of food I could find. Home again now and straight back on it...
However I was a little naughty and looked at the scales and they say the same. I don't weigh in until tomorrow but I am just disheartened that all these events come at once. First week I lost 4lbs, 2nd week STS and who knows about tomorrow. This weekend I am going away again birthday treat with the girls and having tea out fri night and a 3course meal on Saturday with tapas as an appetiser. Am I destined for a STS for the next few weeks? I know I shouldn't complain it's amazing to be able to have a lovely time away it's just it seems to come at a cost to
me on the scales and I feel so motivated to do this that I almost want to lose weight more than having these trips.
Does anyone else have these issues about going away or out for dinner?xx

I know what you mean, I started at SW 2 weeks ago, first week lost 4 1/2, last night weighed in and had only lost 1/2 so feeling a bit low today.
I've had friends down both weekends and had considered waiting till after their visits to start but then I just thought there is always going to be an excuse so just bite the bullet and do it!
It is disheartening when loses are small, esp as I felt like I had been good, but I guess at-least it isn't a gain and as my consultant keeps saying SW is a way of life not a quick fix.
I say enjoy your weekends and as hard as it might be try to be happy that your working towards an overall goal and some weeks are just going to be tougher than others, yes you might gain or STS but at least you're still enjoying your life, would you really be happier to loose 3 or 4lb each week but have to cut out all the things you enjoy? I know I wouldn't!
Anyway sorry for the rant, hope you enjoy your night out!

Ps just need to learn to follow my own advise now so I can snap out of this bad mood! Any ideas??!

Thank you for your advice! You're so right. Maybe we can keep in touch on here, our stats are similiar, it may be nice to feel as though you're doing it alongside someone. I don't know just a thought. I agree with you, just keep going and at least half a lb isn't a gain hey? It's a marathon not a sprint as i keep being told! As for advice I say we do what we can and try and be as sensible as possible and next week fresh start back on it 100%, I would say over the weekend I probably try and follow it as best I can but when you aren't making food for yourself who knows how many syns?! Other than that I've decided my weekend will be better if I can exercise on the run up to it and be 100% in the week and save some syns...damage control! Xxx

That's what I've been doing too, I know the don't necessarily encourage you to save your suns, bit I'd rather be able to have a couple of glasses of wine on a Friday night rather than eating chocolate or whatever during the week when I'm not the bothered!
Definitely think keeping each other up to date is a good idea, it's nice to be able to share the ups and downs (hopefully more downs on the scales though!)

How's your week going? I went to Ask last night but am hoping I made a fairly sensible choice, and have managed to stay syn free today so fingers crossed yesterday shouldn't have to big an impact!

I also got a a meal out this weekend and next (this week, being taken to a fancy italian as a thank you for family friend & weekend after going to a friend of my oh for an authentic indian meal)

I'm going to try and make goodish choices at the Italian but the week after I will have no control over. But if I STS i will be happy and then go for a weight loss the week after.

Nice to know where all in the same boat tho x
