I was wondering what happens to all the extra skin when you loos lots of wieght? I lost 5 stone very fast because of metformin... and feel like a deflated baoon! Does it just sort itself out? Does more exercise help or is it jst one of those things?

I think it depends on your skin tone. I had lot's of loose skin, especially on my tummy and arms (Genuine bingo wings) but I have been lucky as it has slowly tightened up. Took a couple of years though.

I'm not sure if exercise will help either, I cycle and walk a lot and never had the loose skin on my thighs so maybe it does, my tummy and arms were gross though. ;)

Think maybe its a bit of a lottery ,:( If you have less to lose, have young skin that you have looked after drink plenty of water it may just sort it self out . Some one described it like a balloon and once blown up never quiet goes back to its original size ,some say if you loose on ww or sw or similar then you dont get the excess skin but I talk to many who lose this way who have the same problem ,so I think its a bit of a lottery but better to be a healthy weight and well than have all the problems that go with been obese .
I have lost a lot of weight and while wearing clothes no one can tell I have excess skin other than on my arms but can wear short sleves and look ok ,so its not as big a problem and Im happy with how I am now the list of pluses from weight lost far out weigh the minus
    More energy
    PLay with the children
Can walk up stairs /hills without having to stop half way:D
    Marathon sex sessions
    No high blood pressure
    No heart /cheat pains
Clean bill of health from last to mot at specialist and dont need to go for regular check ups :D
Get chatted up in pub (even got phone number dont tell hubby threw it away:D) made me feel brill
The list goes on the minus is
    possible excess skin
dont get to see dishy male nurse when go for check up :8855:
    cant think of any more
DONT STOP YOUR JOURNEY ON SOMETHING THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN XX

Pretty much went away of it's own accord Grom, took a while though, probably a couple of years once I'd reached Maint I think.
