what helps u take ur mind off things?

    Any suggestions on what helps you take ur mind off things wen u feel like straying off the diet?

    I focus on the fact that I would have to go through it all again for having one slip up and that it is not forever (well yes some parts are).

    Depends on the circumstances.

    If it's during the day, and I just want to snack on something I shouldn't, I a.) reach for an emergency snack (sweetened yogurt or biltong or prawns) and then start to focus on something I plan to eat later in the day - if burgers, for example, I start to plan the seasoning etc.

    If it's while I'm out, socialising, I order a sparkling water and sip that slowly. If the cravings get too strong I will just leave. If I can't leave, and the cravings continue, then I "put on an atkins hat" and chose the least worst option - for example, chosing peanuts instead of doritos, or cheese instead of dessert.

    I confess to having to be quite anti-social while I was in cruise - or at least being relieved when social events were cancelled or postponed.

    One answer is perhaps to steer the social event into a less dangerous direction - suggesting an evening picnic, or a cinema trip, bowling, a trip to a waterpark, or a BBQ instead of drinks /dinner.
