Ive noticed a lot of recipes have passata in them - what is it? and where abouts in the supermarket will I find it please?

In Tesco it's with the canned fruit and veg, near the tinned tomatoes. :)

    Thanks for a quick reply!

I'm a bit confused though... I thought it was bad to buy things in jars..?

I think most tinned vegetables have syns, but tinned tomatos are syn free. You can use chopped tomatos instead of passata in most recipies. I prefer chopped tomatos as I find passata too sweet.

No this isn't the case. Veggies are free whether fresh, frozen or tinned.

    tinned veg

the only tinned veg that isnt free is peas, butterbeans and sweetcorn. aslong as the veg is in its own juices it is free =]

Its nothing to do with them being tinned - theyre not free because theyre not vegetables, theyre pulses!

Peas, beans and sweetcorn are NEVER free on Red, whether tinned, frozen, fresh, raw or anything else.

Passata and pulses aside, how come you're starving? You definitely shouldn't be starving on SW.
