when am I allowed the bars?

Am on day 3 and desperate to chew something- this urge seems to get worse at night so it is probably emotional. I have tried ice cubes but I need something a bit more food like. When can I start the bars and why are we not allowed bars from the beginning?

They are recommended from week 3 onwards. Cant wait to start mine on Monday! I miss chewing and am going to have a couple of the bars a week so they seem more like a treat.
If you are doing the USA version of Cambridge, they don't allow the bars when you are Sole Sourcing. They say the bars aren't nutritionally complete. But of course the UK and US versions are different.
I can't wait till I have mine either which is on monday too. I am going to have one a day as I dread the shakes :( I hope it doesn't effect my weight loss :(
I only like banana, stawberry and chocolate shakes. Then i dont love them i down them as quick as i can then take a swig of water.

I dont think the bars affect weight loss if you start them in week 3 as your in established ketosis then hence why its best to wait until 3 weeks.

Have you tried the mix a mousse?? Makes the shakes into Angel delight / mousse. My cdc sold me some on my 1st day but i think i read on here your not meant to have it until 3 weeks too :eek: so i have stopped but it is really nice and as long as you do it right it does really taste like Angel delight. The choc mint flavour is especially nice mousse style.

I know that on 'other' vlcds they discourage you from having bars in the first few weeks so that you break the connection between nourishment and eating. Dont know if CD is the same...
