why do so many of you comment we should make sure we have our syns?

    Is it because you think it reduces the likelihood of a craving?

    Somedays I'm not interested in having anything syn like ... is this okay?

    I was exactly the same at the beginning but its for two reasons. 1, syns does not necessary equate to bad food. Sauces or nuts etc which enhance the dishes can be included as part of your syn allowance. 2, if you find that weightloss slows then you will need to have something to cut back on. Syns are a good option for this. If you dont want to use them some days then dont but I would advise to allow yourself some as this is not an abstience diet and you may need incentives to continue on it. xx

    Yeah I was going to say almost the same thing. I use my Syns weekly so some days I will have loads and others not at all but I make sure I use at least some of them otherwise there is nothing to cut back on when you need that extra boost. Also if you don't have them usually then when you have a special occasion and need to use them it may have an adverse affect. Hope that helps x

    ok, you have scared me into having them now... I definitely want something to cut back on at times and I wouldn't want too much of an adverse effect if I had an event.

    I'll definitley use some syns in oil to do my stir fries

    I have a real sweet tooth so I find it easy to use mine but I think a lot of people use them on dressings and sauces etc. I sometimes use mine for fruit juices

    I use mine on chocolate occasionally, but usually sweets that I can suck on in front of the telly for about 1.5 syns each and I almost always have a massive fruit salad with vanilla muller light and a crushed meringue nest (2.5 syns) every night. The rest of my syns tend to just come from odd things here and there throughout the day.

    I find as long as I have my fruit salad every night (I'm somewhat addicted!) then I could have as little as 5 syns a day but I try to stick to between 10-15 because I know soon I will probably have to drop to 10 to keep losing.

    I know I can't stop at one sweet/square of chocolate though ... so those have to be out for me ... quite like the idea of meringue next though ....

    I have these sweets from America (similar to chocolate eclair sweets) that take ages to suck on so I have about 3 a night and by the time I'm done with them (after my fruit salad), I'm ready to go to bed! Stops me from nibbling or bingeing!
