o god... now this is a worry... but i am sure this statement is enough to reasure me..

Drinking several litres over a relatively short period of time could be enough to cause water intoxication. Those most at risk include people taking ecstasy, as the drug increases thirst and facilitates the release of anti-diuretic hormones so more water is taken in but cannot be excreted. Also, elderly people because their kidney function may be impaired.

yes, it is about drinking too much in a short space of time. So if we aren't glugging it all down in an hour, we are fine and there is nothing to worry about. The woman in the article was in a water drinking contest which suggests she was trying to drink as much as possible as quickly as possible (an extremely stupid thing for someone to have organised).

Noone needs to worry as long as we are drinking throughout the day. A good goal is 1 litre every one and half hours (but I often have one litre an hour for a period of time).

    Panic over, hopefully

in the CD book the reason youve to drink extra liquid during the day is conventional food is 70% water and were not getting that!
4 - 5 litres spread out over the day isnt going to cause water intoxication
