Wishes i wasn't in love with my best friend

#1
Don't know what to do, were so close, do everything together. He's such a legend and has been there for me so much recently. Nothing has happened and I don't even know if he likes me back. Worst thing though. I'm engaged and it's so wrong. Help me WTF am I doing?! Xx

I don't feel very qualified to answer this as I do not know really what the answer is.

Do you still love your fiance ?? If not do you want to go ahead and spend your life with someone you do not love.?
If you do, stop messing with your own feelings, try and get your friendship with your best friend on a more comfortable footing or bin it altogether.

It is so easy to mistake love for lots of other feelings and emotions.

Ask yourself if you are bit bored with your BF, if your relationship is a bit stale. If it is and you love him do something special like a weekend away, a romantic meal in a lovely atmosphere be it at home or out.

I know this is not a great deal of help but I could not just not answer you.

I feel a bit like an agony aunt !!

I think Sue gave you a very good and wise response hun. I've fallen in love with my best friend before (although I wasn't engaged at the time) and it's very hard to get your friendship back onto friendship terms once you develop feelings for that person. However, if you love your fiance then you're going to have to try to ignore your feelings for your friend...if you told him and he didn't feel the same way, then that could well be the end of the friendship, or at the very least it would make things very awkward. Believe me, I know :(

Sue's suggestion about a weekend away, or a nice romantic meal, is a very good one...maybe you just need to re-find some of the spark that brought the two of you together in the first place. All relationships go through bad/stagnant patches, but if you love your fiance then you'll make things work :)

Hugs from me! xxx

Thankq ladies I know your right, thing is I do love my fiancé loads he's awesome but cuz I'm away at uni it's difficult although this is my final year. I don't think I'd ever act on it with my friend for fear of embarrassment and also I don't want to lose him as a friend. I'm just being ridiculous really just so silly Grrr so mad at myself! X

So glad you feel like that what a relief it must be for you to be able to see things as they really are.

If you did act on your feelings you could lose them both.......doesn't bear thinking about.

Even at my advanced age I cam meet someone who makes my tummy flip and I absolutely adore my DH, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me but let's face it we are all human and would be a bit dead in that department if we didn't feel like that now and again.

Obviously you spend more time with your best friend than your fiance at present so don't beat yourself up about the way you feel, you are just mere human being after all.

hugs xxx
