yesterday I am ashamed to say that I eat....

#1
....... a whole box of chocolates from hotel chocolate.

Ok, I know I am a CDC but sometimes we suffer from the demons too and it is better to admit defeat. I am not too chuffed with my friend for choosing a rather tempting Christmas gift... I should know better (my fault). Oh well... Back to watching what I eat tomorrow :-(

I have to say that after being good all through Christmas and losing 4lbs at my after Christmas WI, I too went silly yesterday and ate 2 pieces of Panetone, (Italian Christmas Cake) 5 chocolates, a chunk of Brie, and a couple of handfulls of nuts. Maybe there was something in the air making us eat. Back on SS today and lots of water

OOOPS hee hee, never mind, you've done it now, too late to panic and in a way they're gone, rather than having one a day and delaying the process.

I've sent my husband off to work with all the christmas goodies, chocs and biscuits I'm not tempted but they're out of sight now and all his workmates and him will be getting fatter which will make me look thinner ha ha.

Don't worry a pound or two is far more managable than seven stone!!!!!!!xx

That is a good idea. I might just chuck all the crap outside in the bin, it's too tempting to binge.. just sitting there. Oh.... I wish I was not addicted to food. Once an addict always one :sigh: at the moment a thin one. Right... I am going shopping now for retail therapy.

Understand totally, I struggle all the time with the demons...if you get a minute read through my Diary (link below). I think as CDc's it is a pressure we find ourselves under. We feel that we should set the example to our clients, if we are getting bigger it isn't a good advert for the diet. But we are HUMAN and also have to have a life, you have done so well, so don't beat yourself up over the chocs.....;)

Yeah, but hotel chocs are rather yum aren't they

It's not a problem, as long as you know....yes...really know you can stop whenever you want. That's the toughy.

If I want a whole box of chocs, then I'll have a whole box. It's when I tell myself I mustn't, I have the problem.

Nice to know I am not alone.

Yes you are right about the pressures we put ourselfs under.. when client's that have reached goal say, "well I tried to be good and then in the evenings I am just bad". I feel like saying "yes I know it happens to me all the time" but I can't. I have to stay positive and be a good example - so offer the suggestion "why don't you buy popcorn from Tesco's which is 98 calories for a massive bowl and have that throughout the night" I offer this suggestion but don't do it myself... crazyness!

Hey thats not too bad. Im a newbie, and to me you look absolutely fab from your starting to finishing point. Were all allowed to fall off the wagon, and youve at least lost your weight. A couple pounds wont hurt.

Be good. Your an inspiration.

I know exactly how you feel. I think the frightening thing is that once you have got to goal you hope the "problem" has been fixed somehow and so then if you do binge it is really frightening because the worry is that it will set you off for days on end. BUT, what you need to remember is that these blips are just blips and the good thing is that we can slip up, accept what we have done, and then get back on the healthy eating. I think that is the reality and to try and be perfect 100% of the time is just not viable.

I know that after my blips i have been able to get back on track without too much trouble so when they happen i just accept them and try not to get too stressed out.

Well done, you have done great

I personally, prefer not to think of it as a blip. A blip is when you fall off a diet and I assume you aren't dieting?

This is the rest of your life. You don't fall off anything. It's all about making choices and in that case, you chose to fill with chocs. There is really nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't keep doing it (it'll make you ill;)), you won't be getting the vits and minerals you need to keep your body healthy etc.

So, if you eat a box of chocs, you aren't so hungry come meal time. You skip a meal. Yep...not wonderful, but the next meal will be good hearty stuff and it all evens out. Not the end of the world.

But, if you then start thinking "oh well...blown it now..might aswell continue" or "I'm a failure...can't even leave these chocs alone", then you maybe building up problems for yourself in the long term.

You may want to be a shining example, but first, look to yourself, not what others may think of you. It's only when you look to yourself and how you want to be and feel, that you can really care about yourself.

And when you care about yourself, then you will do what's right for your body.

Me too ! I ate chocolate like it was going on ration. But I guess that is why I did it because I KNOW IT IS ! becuase I will not have it in the house now that Christmas has come and gone. I went to a New Years Day Party , felt so fat coz I gained about 5 lbs over Christmas (trousers straining ) and ate just salad and chicken , becuase thats what I really felt like eating not becuase I thought thats what I should eat, so I guess thats progress. I came home and I dont know if it was the glasses of Champagne , but I took a black bin bag out and ditched everything into it, unopened mince pies , christmas pudding, half eaten chocs , biscuits , dips, crackers , cheese, nuts nibbles THE LOT! ALL GONE into the BIN instead of ME. My advice to anyone out there who dosent think they can deal with the temptations is just get rid of it. I coudnt do this last year , as I saw it as shamefully wasreful, but you know what is wasteful? .. to eat it and use yourself as the bin , risking your health in the process. This is what I did this time last year, when everyone had gone back to work, I bought Christmas goodies in the sales becuase it was a bargain and raised my blood sugar so high by the end of January , my doctor thought I had become diabetic.
So just bin it or give it away if you really cant see it go into the bin!
Good Luck to everyone in the New Year.
